You can usually move playlists, liked songs, albums, artists, and other library metadata from one streaming service to another—but not the actual audio files, subscription, downloads, listening history, or recommendations. The new service searches its own catalog for matching recordings, so every migration should be treated as a catalog-matching process rather than a literal account transfer.
Keep your old service active, test a small playlist first, use a native destination tool when available, and audit missing and incorrectly matched songs before canceling anything.
Choose the right transfer method
- Moving to Apple Music: Start with Apple Music’s built-in transfer feature, documented for iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web.
- Moving to TIDAL: TIDAL directs users to TuneMyMusic.
- Moving to or from YouTube Music: Check YouTube Music’s current import instructions; availability and the interface can vary.
- Moving between less common services: Compare the current TuneMyMusic support matrix with Soundiiz’s available services and features.
- Moving one short playlist: Manual recreation may be faster and gives you complete control over every recording.

Apple says its transfer process can move songs, albums, and playlists, with liked or loved tracks sent to a Favorite Songs playlist. It also states that only playlists created by the user can be transferred through that workflow; personalized and service-created playlists are excluded. The exact categories depend on the source service and the transfer direction.

- Keep the source account active. The transfer tool needs to read the old library, and you need the old service for comparison and recovery.
- Make an inventory. Mark essential playlists, large collections, rare recordings, local files, purchased downloads, and uploaded music.
- Check directionality. A tool may support one service combination but offer only export-only, add-only, or partial support for a particular library category. Review the current capability matrix.
- Confirm the destination account. Some native workflows require an active subscription. Apple’s transfer feature requires an Apple Music subscription; TIDAL requires a TIDAL account.
- Preserve a backup. Export playlist data to a file where possible, or use a CSV, text file, spreadsheet, or screenshots as a reference.
- Run a test. Choose a representative playlist of about 20–50 tracks, including albums, remixes, explicit songs, and less common artists.
Method 1: Use a destination service’s native transfer feature
Apple Music
Apple’s current documentation says transfers can begin in the Apple Music app on iPhone, iPad, or Android, or through Apple Music on the web. The feature is provided by a third party inside Apple Music and requires Sync Library to be enabled.

In the Apple Music app
- Open Apple Music.
- On iPhone or iPad, open the account menu. On Android, open More > Settings.
- Select Transfer Music from Other Music Services.
- Choose the old service and sign in through the authorization flow.
- Select the playlists, songs, albums, or other supported content.
- Choose Add to Library.
- Wait for matching to finish, then review any alternate matches.
On the web
- Open Apple Music on the web and sign in.
- Select your account photo or monogram.
- Choose Transfer Music.
- Select the content and choose Add to Library.
Apple reports when it finds an alternate rather than an exact match. You have 30 days from the initial transfer to review unmatched music, and a device cannot start another transfer while a review is pending. Apple’s current support page lists mainland China, Myanmar, and Russia as unavailable regions. Explicit-content restrictions can also leave explicit tracks grayed out.
YouTube Music
YouTube Music’s help documentation describes importing playlists, albums, artists, and tracks. Depending on the source, the process may use built-in functionality or a third-party service such as TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz. Do not rely on a single universal menu path: the feature and interface can vary by account, country, device, and source. Use the current help instructions linked above.
Method 2: Use TuneMyMusic
TuneMyMusic is a practical choice when the destination has no native importer or when you need broad cross-platform support. Its service list includes Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, Qobuz, Pandora, and other services, but support differs by operation and direction.
- Open TuneMyMusic.
- Select the source service and authorize access through the service’s sign-in or authorization page.
- Load the library, then choose specific playlists, favorite tracks, albums, artists, or individual tracks.
- Select the destination service and authorize it.
- Review the selection and start the transfer.
- Save the completion report and unmatched-track list. TuneMyMusic says missing tracks can be included in a downloadable CSV report.
TIDAL’s published instructions direct users to this workflow and currently state that up to 500 tracks can be transferred free through TuneMyMusic, with Premium required for larger transfers. Treat that allowance as a current limit, not a permanent guarantee.
Method 3: Use Soundiiz
Soundiiz is useful for batch operations, album and artist libraries, favorites, exports, and recurring synchronization. Its free plan currently allows one playlist at a time, with up to 200 tracks per playlist. The pricing page displayed on August 18, 2026 listed Premium at $5 per month or $39 per year, and Creator at $9.50 per month or $75 per year.
Soundiiz also supports exports in formats including CSV, TXT, JSON, XML, XSPF, and URL files. For a one-time migration, a one-month Premium subscription may be sufficient; review the live pricing and cancellation terms before paying. Do not buy the Creator tier unless you need its additional creator-oriented features.

Other installed-app options
Readers who prefer not to use a browser service can consider FreeYourMusic. Its product pages advertise transfers of playlists, albums, liked songs, saved albums, and followed artists across major services, with apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Check its current product and store pricing before purchase; a reliable current US price is not established here.
How to fix missing or incorrect songs
A transfer can report completion while still containing wrong recordings. Matching often relies on titles, artists, albums, and catalog identifiers, and different services organize their catalogs differently.
Wrong recording
Check for:
- Studio versus live versions.
- Original versus remastered or re-recorded releases.
- Original track versus remix, edit, or acoustic version.
- Clean versus explicit editions.
- Album version versus single version.
- Original artist versus a cover or similarly named artist.
- Audio track versus music video.
Search the destination manually using the album name, release year, and version label. Replace the incorrect match rather than assuming a 100% completion message means the playlist is accurate.
Missing recording
A song may be missing because it is not licensed in the destination country, the release is absent, metadata is incomplete, the track was removed or renamed, or the tool cannot read that source category. Destination limits and free-plan limits can also affect results. Use the transfer report as a repair list, then search for a different edition or add a legitimate alternative manually.
Local and uploaded music
MP3s, ripped CDs, purchased downloads, DJ edits, and personal recordings are separate from a streaming catalog transfer. Preserve the original files independently and check whether the destination supports local-file playback or uploads. Do not assume a playlist entry for a local file will become a playable cloud track.

Privacy and authorization
- Use the provider’s official sign-in or OAuth authorization screen.
- Do not type a streaming password into an unfamiliar third-party form.
- Read the permissions requested and authorize only the accounts needed for this migration.
- Download the transfer report.
- After a one-time move, revoke or disconnect access where possible.
TuneMyMusic says it uses official APIs for nearly all supported platforms and notes that official APIs are unavailable for Pandora and Yandex Music. Those are the vendor’s claims, not an independent security guarantee. TIDAL’s instructions say TuneMyMusic can be disconnected through the TuneMyMusic account settings under Connections.

Audit the new library before canceling
Compare the source and destination systematically:
- Playlist count and names.
- Track count in every important playlist.
- Playlist order.
- Missing and duplicate tracks.
- Incorrect artists and recordings.
- Clean and explicit versions.
- Studio, live, remix, single, deluxe, and remastered editions.
- Region-restricted songs.
- Audio tracks that became music videos.
- Favorite songs, albums, and artists in their expected destination locations.
- Local files, downloads, uploads, and purchased music handled separately.
Use the new service normally for several weeks if the collection is important. Repair rare recordings and verify essential playlists before deleting anything from the old account or ending its subscription.
Manual recreation may be better
Manual transfer is often the best option for one or two short playlists, collections dominated by obscure tracks, or playlists where the exact recording matters more than speed. It is slower, but it lets you verify every version as you go.
For a larger collection, export the source playlist data to a spreadsheet or one of the supported file formats offered by Soundiiz or another tool. This creates a checklist even if automated matching fails, and it preserves a useful record after the old account is closed.
Can you keep two services synchronized?
Some migration tools advertise recurring synchronization. TuneMyMusic and Soundiiz both promote synchronization features, while individual service permissions and support can vary. Use synchronization only after testing a one-time transfer, and check whether it adds new items without creating duplicates or overwriting carefully repaired playlists.

Can I transfer music for free?
Often, yes for a small collection. Current limits vary: TIDAL says its TuneMyMusic workflow allows up to 500 tracks free, while Soundiiz’s free plan allows one playlist at a time with up to 200 tracks. Check the provider’s current terms before starting.
Will my downloaded songs move?
No. Offline downloads are tied to the old service and device. Preserve local, purchased, or uploaded files separately and check the destination’s own local-file or upload features.

Can I transfer liked songs?
Sometimes. The source, destination, and tool must support favorites. Apple says liked or loved songs are placed in a Favorite Songs playlist; other services may place them in a favorites area or a newly created playlist.

Usually this is a sharing or copying task rather than a cross-service migration. Use the service’s account-sharing or playlist-copy features where available, and check whether ownership, collaboration, and followers are preserved.
Can I transfer Spotify Wrapped or listening history?
Do not expect Wrapped data, listening history, play counts, or algorithmic recommendations to transfer. These are generally account-specific features, not playlist metadata.
What happens to songs unavailable on the new service?
They are normally marked unmatched, omitted, or left unavailable. Review the report, search for another legitimate edition, and check country or licensing restrictions.
Is it safe to connect a third-party transfer service?
Use the service’s official authorization screen, review requested permissions, avoid sharing your password directly, and revoke access after the transfer. No third party’s security should be treated as guaranteed.

Why did the tool choose the wrong version?
Catalogs use different metadata and contain multiple versions of the same title. Check live, remix, explicit, clean, remastered, cover, music-video, and similarly named-artist matches manually.
Can I transfer playlists created by the service?
Not reliably. Apple’s current workflow transfers user-created playlists but excludes service-created playlists. Personalized mixes, radio stations, and editorial playlists generally need to be recreated or followed separately.
