In Survivor 50 Episode 5, “Open Wounds,” Rizo’s “Operation: Bad Blood” puts him on a collision course with Charlie—and Charlie is voted out 4-3. Taylor Swift is part of the joke, not the conflict: Charlie is a Swift fan, and the label nods to her song. The older wound shaping Charlie’s suspicion is his disappointment that Maria did not vote for him to win Survivor 46.
What happens in “Open Wounds”?
The fifth episode of Survivor 50 aired March 25, 2026. CBS lists its runtime as 65 minutes. The episode features two Tribal Councils, with Angelina and Charlie both leaving the game.
Before the split Tribal Councils, Ozzy reacts to the previous vote, and Christian gives him his Shot in the Dark. At Vatu’s Tribal Council, Angelina is voted out. She retrieves and donates her jacket before her torch is snuffed.
Why does Rizo call his plan “Operation: Bad Blood”?
On Cila, Jonathan, Charlie and Devens consider targeting Rizo, while Dee, Rizo and Cirie focus on Charlie. Rizo calls his maneuver “Operation: Bad Blood!”—a Taylor Swift reference connected to Charlie’s fandom. Swift herself is not involved; the real clash is between Rizo and Charlie.

Rizo also tells Kamilla about the Billie Eilish boomerang idol and says Kyle wanted him to work with her. Kamilla is wary of the claim about Kyle, adding uncertainty to Rizo’s pitch as the Cila vote takes shape.
How does Maria’s vote become part of Charlie’s conflict with Rizo?
Charlie’s suspicion of Rizo is colored by a previous disappointment: Maria did not vote for him to win Survivor 46. That lingering hurt helps explain why Rizo’s account of his own Season 49 jury vote lands as more than a routine game detail.
