Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteSpoilers for James Gunn’s Superman (2025) follow. The biggest reveal is that Clark’s Kryptonian parents sent him to Earth hoping he would rule it; Lex Luthor broadcasts the recovered message to turn the public against Superman. Lex’s larger scheme also produces Ultraman, a clone made from Superman’s hair. Superman survives the final battle, Hawkgirl kills Boravia’s leader, and Kara Zor-El arrives at the Fortress of Solitude in the film’s clearest character tease for what may come next.
What is the biggest reveal in Superman?
At the Fortress of Solitude, Clark has heard a reassuring holographic message from his birth parents, Jor-El and Lara. Lex breaks into the Fortress and gets the Engineer to recover the damaged second half of the recording. That portion changes its meaning: Jor-El and Lara intended Kal-El to conquer Earth and establish a Kryptonian ruling line. The message is genuine within the film, not a fabrication by Lex, although Clark initially hopes it is. TIME’s account of the parents reveal describes how Lex releases it publicly to discredit Superman.

The revelation does not make Clark accept his parents’ plan. His response is to choose his own values and the life he has built on Earth. When he visits Jonathan and Martha Kent, Jonathan is alive and proud of the person Clark became. The contrast makes the twist about moral choice and chosen family, not a secret change in Superman’s allegiance.
What is Lex Luthor’s plan, and who is Ultraman?
Lex has made a deal with Boravia’s leader involving weapons and a planned claim on neighboring Jarhanpur. The conflict gives Lex a pretext to draw Superman into a situation where he hopes to kill him. Lex also deploys Ultraman, a masked Superman clone created from a strand of Clark’s hair left after an earlier fight. GamesRadar+’s ending explanation connects the Boravia scheme, Ultraman and the wider crisis.

- Blu-ray
Lex’s pocket-dimension technology opens a rift that threatens Metropolis. Superman eventually knocks Ultraman into the black hole associated with it, while Mister Terrific closes the rift. The film’s resolution also frees people imprisoned in the pocket dimension and ends with Lex arrested and taken to Belle Reve. Ultraman is defeated and sent into the black hole; the cited ending account does not establish a separate, confirmed death scene.
Who dies in Superman?
The clearest confirmed death in the ending coverage is Boravia’s leader: Hawkgirl drops him from a great height during the intervention in Jarhanpur. Superman survives, Lex survives and is imprisoned, and Jonathan Kent is alive in this continuity. Ultraman’s fate is less definitive: he is defeated and sent into the black hole, but that is not the same as an explicitly confirmed death. GamesRadar+’s plot account describes the ending events.
Which cameos and returning characters appear?
Kara Zor-El / Supergirl
Milly Alcock appears as Kara at the Fortress of Solitude near the end. She greets Krypto and thanks Clark for watching her dog. DC’s Easter-egg guide connects Kara’s red-sun partying line to the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, but explicitly frames its feature as commentary rather than confirmation of future plans.
Maxwell Lord, Rick Flag Sr. and Flo Crawley
Sean Gunn appears as Maxwell Lord, the mogul associated with LordTech and the Justice Gang’s financing; DC also notes his brief news appearance after Lex’s duplicity is exposed. Frank Grillo returns as Rick Flag Sr., and Tinashe Kajese-Bolden appears as Flo Crawley, linking the film to other DC projects. These are recognizable appearances, not by themselves promises about the next film.

The Kents, the Daily Planet and Lex’s circle
Bradley Cooper and Angela Sarafyan appear as Jor-El and Lara in the recording central to the main twist. DC’s guide also identifies Daily Planet characters Cat Grant, Steve Lombard and Ron Troupe, Lex associates Eve Teschmacher and Otis Berg, and comic references including T-Spheres and the hypno-glasses joke.

There are two brief scenes, and neither functions as an explicit new-story trailer. In the mid-credits scene, Superman and Krypto sit on the moon and look at Earth. In the final scene, Superman and Mister Terrific inspect a building repaired after the rift’s damage. Superman points out that it is slightly misaligned, irritating Terrific; Superman then regrets the comment. GamesRadar+’s credits-scene guide and Variety’s coverage describe both moments. Variety reproduces Superman’s line as “It’s just a little off,” followed by Terrific’s “What do you want me to do?”

What does the ending set up?
Kara’s arrival at the Fortress is the most direct character tease: Clark’s cousin and Krypto’s owner is now in the story. The credits scenes, by contrast, are small character beats rather than explicit plot hooks. DC’s own guide cautions that its commentary on Easter eggs should not be read as confirmation or denial of future plans, so the appearances and comic nods are not proof of a specific sequel or crossover.
The ending also resolves the immediate crisis rather than leaving Lex in control: the Justice Gang helps save Jarhanpur, the pocket-dimension prisoners are freed, and Lex is taken to Belle Reve. The final state of Ultraman remains less clear than the fates of the other central characters.
