Dragon Ball DAIMA’s Super Saiyan 4 Goku appears during the final battle against Third Eye Gomah, after Goku turns Super Saiyan 3 at the end of episode 17. The franchise’s official site calls the DAIMA figure version “Super Saiyan 4 Goku -DAIMA-,” establishing the name; the available official material cited here does not explain the form’s trigger, energy source, or power level.
When does Super Saiyan 4 appear in DAIMA?
The transformation is part of DAIMA’s climactic confrontation with Gomah. The official episode preview says Gomah obtains the Evil Third Eye in episode 16 and becomes Third Eye Gomah. At the end of episode 17, Goku takes Super Saiyan 3; episode 18 continues the fight. The preview asks, “What sort of battle will unfold between Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Third Eye Gomah in Episode 18?!” and quotes Goku saying, “I guess I ain’t got a choice!” (DRAGON BALL OFFICIAL SITE episode preview.)
That sequence gives the immediate story context for the later Super Saiyan 4 reveal: Goku is facing an empowered Gomah in the final battle. It does not, by itself, explain the transformation’s mechanics.
What does the official material confirm about the form?
Official Dragon Ball franchise announcements use the name “Super Saiyan 4 Goku -DAIMA-” for DAIMA-specific figure products. That confirms the franchise’s product naming for this version. A merchandise label is not a detailed in-story account of how Goku transforms, however, and the announcements cited here do not provide a power multiplier, energy source, or transformation trigger.

Toei describes DAIMA as an original anime series and credits Akira Toriyama with the original work, story, and character designs. Toei’s title overview lists Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki as series directors, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru for animation character design, and Yuko Kakihara for series composition and scenario. Those credits establish the project’s authorship and production context, not a technical explanation of Super Saiyan 4.
Is DAIMA’s Super Saiyan 4 the same as Dragon Ball GT’s?
The official product announcements distinguish this merchandise with the DAIMA label, including “Super Saiyan 4 Goku -DAIMA-.” That is useful when identifying a figure or searching for the DAIMA release rather than GT merchandise. The cited official material does not provide a side-by-side design analysis or settle how the two versions relate in continuity, so it is not enough to declare them identical or different in every story or mechanical respect.

What the available sources do—and do not—establish
- Established: DAIMA’s official episode preview places the final battle after Goku’s episode 17 Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and official DAIMA product announcements use the Super Saiyan 4 name.
- Not established by those sources: a precise transformation trigger, energy source, power multiplier, detailed mechanics, or definitive answer to broader continuity debates.
Toei’s July 2024 DAIMA announcement introduced Goku (Mini) and Supreme Kai (Mini) setting out on an adventure after a conspiracy makes the characters small. It also credited Toriyama’s work on the project. That premise explains DAIMA’s setup, but it should not be treated as an explanation for the Super Saiyan 4 transformation.
