Summer Game Fest Live aired on June 6, 2025, with a two-hour showcase mixing first reveals, new trailers, and updates for games already announced. Headline debuts included Mortal Shell II and Resident Evil Requiem; Capcom also brought news on Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Street Fighter 6. Here’s what the main show announced, with first reveals separated from updates.
What was revealed for the first time?
GameSpot’s same-day recap highlighted Mortal Shell II and a new Resident Evil game among the showcase’s surprises. These were prominent reveals, not the show’s only announcements. GameSpot’s June 6 recap covers the two-hour presentation.
Mortal Shell II
The sequel was one of the show’s major new game announcements. Windows Central’s event roundup listed it for a 2026 release window; that was the schedule reported in 2025, not confirmation of its current release date. Windows Central’s roundup also records platforms and windows for many of the other games shown.
Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom revealed Resident Evil Requiem during the showcase. In its June 12 recap, the company said the game introduces Grace Ashcroft and supports first- or third-person play. Capcom wrote, “During the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, we were excited to make a multitude of announcements during the event.” The statement is from Capcom, not an individually named speaker. Capcom’s recap provides its account of the announcements.

Which announced games received trailers or updates?
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom showed the latest trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. This was a trailer for an announced game, rather than a first reveal of the title.
Street Fighter 6
Capcom announced the Year 3 character lineup for Street Fighter 6, another update to an existing game rather than a new game reveal.

Other games in the event roundup
Windows Central’s list conveys the breadth of the showcase beyond its headline reveals. It includes CODE VEIN II, Atomic Heart II, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Jurassic World Evolution 3, Mina the Hollower, and Dying Light: The Beast, alongside Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The list records platform and release information for many entries, but each item’s status and schedule should be understood as reported at the time.
What platforms and release windows were announced?
The announcements covered multiple platforms and a mixture of release timing: some projects had windows or dates, while others were undated. A platform list is not evidence of exclusivity, and event-time schedules should not be treated as current availability.
