What the film is about
The story is set in 1993. Ryu and Ken are estranged street fighters who return to competition after Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. The official synopsis describes the tournament as a deadly conspiracy as well as a brutal fight between contenders. Kitao Sakurai directs.
Release and production status
Capcom announced on September 5, 2025 that filming had commenced on the live-action adaptation, which it is jointly financing with Legendary Entertainment. Paramount and Legendary describe the movie as the first film released under their three-year global distribution deal.
