Yes, STARZ really offered a year of direct, ad-free streaming for $11.99—but that limited promotion is not the price to assume today. As of August 16, 2026, STARZ’s U.S. signup page surfaced an annual promotion of $23.99 prepaid for 12 months. Treat the $12 offer as expired or targeted unless it appears on your own final checkout screen.
What the $12 STARZ deal was
The widely reported offer was $11.99 upfront for 12 months of STARZ through the service’s direct subscription. That works out to about $1 per month, but it was an annual payment—not twelve monthly charges of $1. Reports from 2025 said the promotion appeared to some new and returning customers during signup, rather than consistently on the public offer page. That history does not guarantee it will appear for a particular account now. Contemporary coverage of the promotion described it as a limited deal.
The offer was a substantial discount from STARZ’s standard annual price of $69.99: about $58 in savings before any applicable taxes. But a low price reported in an old deal article or social post is not proof that the same offer is still available to you.

How to check whether you can get $11.99 for the year
- Go directly to starz.com/us/en/buy.
- Choose the current signup control, such as Claim Special Offer or Sign Up Now, and enter your account email if requested. STARZ documents its direct signup flow in its subscription instructions.
- Compare the plans shown to you. Do not assume an introductory monthly price is the annual offer.
- Before paying, check the total due today, the length of the promotional term, the renewal date and price, any eligibility conditions, and whether tax is added.
- Proceed only if the final checkout explicitly says approximately $11.99 for 12 months and those are the terms you want. Save the confirmation email or a screenshot of the offer and renewal details.
If checkout instead shows $23.99 for the year, that is the annual offer currently surfaced on the official page—not the $12 deal. A page showing a monthly introductory price is a different promotion. Refreshing the browser or relying on an old link does not establish eligibility for the $11.99 price.
Who may qualify?
Past reporting indicates the $11.99 offer reached at least some new subscribers and former STARZ App subscribers who rejoined directly. A later $23.99 promotion was also reported for new and returning direct subscribers. These reports do not establish a universal eligibility rule, and they do not mean every current subscriber qualifies. STARZ says promotional requirements are disclosed when an offer is presented and may vary. Check the terms on your own checkout screen.
Existing monthly subscribers can switch to annual billing through their account, but that is separate from qualifying for a promotional rate. STARZ’s documented route is to sign in, select the gear icon, open Subscription, choose Switch to Annual Billing, and confirm with the account password. STARZ says the charge is adjusted for the remaining value of the current monthly period; do not assume the switch will apply a $11.99 or $23.99 promotion. What the subscription includes—and what it does not guarantee
STARZ advertises ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and simultaneous streaming on multiple devices, along with access on supported screens and mobile devices. Confirm the features attached to the plan you are buying at checkout. A year-long subscription does not guarantee that any particular film, series, episode, or documentary will remain in the catalog for the whole year; streaming libraries change.
Renewal, cancellation, and refunds
STARZ subscriptions generally renew automatically for another billing period unless canceled. Under STARZ’s U.S. terms, renewal is at the then-current subscription fee, not necessarily the promotional price you paid. Record the renewal date and the price stated in your offer; the $12 or $23.99 first-year deal is not a price lock for the next year.
For a subscription billed directly by STARZ, sign in and open Settings or the account subscription area, then follow the cancellation prompts. If you subscribed through a distributor, such as Apple, Amazon, Hulu, or Peacock, manage cancellation through that company instead. Cancel well before the renewal deadline and confirm the cancellation on screen or by email. Cancellation generally stops future renewal rather than ending access immediately, but the exact result depends on the billing channel and terms. STARZ says subscriptions are generally nonrefundable unless law or the applicable offer terms provide otherwise; do not count on a prorated refund.
Read the STARZ U.S. terms for automatic renewal, promotional offers, billing, cancellation, and distributor subscriptions. If checkout shows an unexpected amount, keep the confirmation and contact the company that bills you.

Direct STARZ versus the Peacock add-on
A STARZ subscription bought directly from STARZ is billed and managed through STARZ. A subscription purchased through another service follows that distributor’s pricing, eligibility rules, billing dates, and cancellation process. Do not confuse a direct annual offer with the Peacock add-on: Peacock announced STARZ for eligible subscribers at $11.99 per month, not $12 for a year. Is the annual deal worth it?
The $11.99 year is compelling if it appears in your checkout, you expect to watch STARZ throughout the year, and you are comfortable paying upfront and tracking renewal. At $23.99 prepaid, the annual offer is still well below the listed $69.99 standard annual price, but it ties up more money than a month-to-month subscription. A monthly plan may be the better fit if you only want to finish one series or watch a short run of films and documentaries. Also check whether you already receive STARZ through another service to avoid paying twice.
At the standard $69.99 annual price, the listed cost averages about $5.83 per month. The $11.99 and $23.99 promotions average about $1 and $2 per month, respectively, before tax—but those averages assume a full upfront annual payment.

Can existing STARZ subscribers get the $12 annual deal?
