Yes—December 2024 reports said a development build of Free Radical Design’s cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 for Wii had been found, and footage from it was shared. The footage reportedly shows gameplay and cutscenes, but the reporting does not independently authenticate the files or establish that this was a finished or authorized release.
What was found, and who reported it?
Nintendo Life reported on December 18, 2024, that a new Wii build associated with the cancelled game had surfaced after nearly ten years of research and online digging. It credited modder iamshaymin with sharing footage and described the build as dating from just over a week before cancellation. Nintendo Life’s report
Insider Gaming also reported the discovery on December 18, 2024, crediting the Free Radical Archive with finding the build. The reports describe a development artifact, not a retail copy or a complete consumer release. Insider Gaming’s report
What does the footage reportedly show?
Coverage describes footage containing gameplay and cutscenes. GamesRadar’s account mentions a Jedi Fighter leaving Coruscant for a space battle, fighters supporting ground combat, and playable heroes. Those are observations about the footage that surfaced; they do not confirm that every depicted feature would have appeared in a finished Wii game. GamesRadar’s footage description

How close to cancellation was this build?
Nintendo Life says Free Radical worked on the project from 2006 to 2008, while Insider Gaming places its cancellation in late 2008. The surfaced Wii build was described as coming from just over a week before cancellation, or as having been made in the final week of development. The cited articles do not provide a verified exact build date.
Insider Gaming attributed this statement to the Free Radical Archive: “This build, made in the final week of development, is full of content that has not been seen before by fans.” That is the Archive’s characterization as quoted by the outlet, not independent verification of the build’s provenance or contents.

No evidence in the cited coverage establishes that the build was a finished game, an authorized consumer release, or a final version planned for Wii. Insider Gaming quoted the Archive saying: “As this game was cancelled during development, there are still bugs and issues which we hope can be resolved through future modding.” The statement indicates that the build had issues and that modding was hoped for; it does not establish that a public playable release later resulted.
