The “massive creep” label fits the character’s unsettling presentation in the thriller, not an allegation about Tatum himself.
What happens in the Blink Twice trailer?
Frida, played by Naomi Ackie, meets Slater at his fundraising gala. He invites her to his private island, where the apparent luxury and glamour give way to unease. The official synopsis says that strange events lead Frida to question her reality and try to uncover the truth; the trailer’s setup signals that shift without requiring viewers to know the story’s later turns. The official film site describes the premise.
That contrast is what makes Slater feel creepy in the trailer: he has extraordinary wealth and control over the setting, while Frida is entering a world whose rules she does not know. It is a reading of the fictional character and the trailer’s suspenseful setup, not a claim about the actor.
Who is Channing Tatum playing?
Tatum plays Slater King, the tech billionaire who invites Frida to his island. Ackie plays Frida. The film’s official site lists an ensemble that also includes Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan and Geena Davis.

Who made Blink Twice, and when was it released?
Zoë Kravitz directed the film and co-wrote it with E.T. Feigenbaum, according to Amazon MGM Studios’ official second-trailer description. That trailer was published August 1, 2024, and advertised a U.S. theatrical opening on August 23, 2024. AMC’s U.S. listing gives the same release date, a runtime of 1 hour 42 minutes, and an R rating; ratings and schedules can differ by territory.
The movie is a thriller, and its central question is not simply whether the island is idyllic or unsettling, but what Frida can trust as events unfold. The trailer offers the premise and mood while leaving the mystery for the film.
