Spring 2026 Color Trends: The Runway Shades Fashion Editors Are Watching

For Spring/Summer 2026, fashion coverage is pointing to saturated color and unexpected pairings: cobalt blue, vivid pink and magenta, purple, chartreuse and other greens, reds, and bright yellows. There is no single official list of colors that are “in”: Pantone publishes separate New York and London palettes, while fashion editors identify shades they noticed in runway collections. Both also leave room for softer hues and foundational colors.

Which colors are showing up in Spring 2026 fashion?

These are recurring shades in the season’s coverage, not a universal dress code. The names matter: “cherry red” and “garden tomato,” for example, are distinct editorial descriptions rather than interchangeable labels.

Color family What the coverage highlights
Blue Marie Claire traces cobalt, also called Klein blue, across Spring 2026 runway collections. Who What Wear also identifies cobalt as a runway color. Marie Claire; Who What Wear.
Pink Marie Claire calls out fluorescent magenta; Who What Wear separately names ballet-slipper pink. They offer very different levels of intensity. Marie Claire; Who What Wear.
Purple Marie Claire highlights grape purple, while Who What Wear points to violet. Pantone London includes Amaranth and Amethyst Orchid in its palette. Marie Claire; Who What Wear; Pantone London Fashion Week report.
Green Marie Claire describes both a bright shade between neon green, chartreuse, and lime, and a separate shamrock green. Pantone New York names Sage Green, while Pantone London includes Shale Green and Palm. Marie Claire; Pantone New York report; Pantone London report.
Red Marie Claire names warm “garden tomato”; Who What Wear says “cherry red” continues. Pantone New York includes Lava Falls. Marie Claire; Who What Wear; Pantone New York report.
Yellow Marie Claire reports canary yellow, while Pantone London lists the softer Pale Banana. Across these sources, yellow ranges from pastel to vivid. Marie Claire; Pantone London report.
Other palette colors Marie Claire includes chartreuse, grape purple, and shamrock green. Pantone New York’s named examples include Alexandrite teal and White Onyx; Pantone London’s standout colors include Burnished Lilac, Teaberry, Mandarin Orange, Caramel, Dutch Canal, and Tickled Pink. Why do the color lists differ?

Pantone’s New York and London reports are forecasts for separate Fashion Week palettes, not one global ranking. The New York report describes contrasting familiar shades with stimulating colors and foundational tones. The London report pairs bright colors with expanded neutrals, heritage shades, and mid-tones. Fashion magazines, meanwhile, offer editorial readings of runway collections, so their shade names and selections do not have to match Pantone’s.

Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman describes the New York palette as a way of “putting colours together” that celebrates self-expression and individualism. In Pantone’s London report, she also notes that “Colour can be functional while also evoking emotion.” These are palette perspectives, not evidence that consumers have adopted particular colors or that one shade will dominate sales.

How can you wear the season’s colors?

Choose a shade by considering its intensity, the role it will play in your outfit, and how much of it you want to wear. The runway colors are options, not rules about what suits you.

  • For a strong statement: Try a saturated shade such as cobalt or chartreuse in a dress, knit, or coordinated look.
  • For a smaller dose: Marie Claire suggests a cobalt crossbody bag or tote, and a magenta sweater or shoe. Who What Wear points to accessories and clothing such as bags, flats, and dresses as ways to use its highlighted shades. Marie Claire; Who What Wear.
  • For a softer look: Consider ballet-slipper pink, Pale Banana, or colors from Pantone’s foundational and seasonless palettes.
  • For a color combination: Who What Wear emphasizes clashing combinations. Treat that as a styling suggestion: contrast shades if you enjoy the effect, or let one bright color stand against a quieter base.

Where do the softer and foundational shades fit?

The season’s color story is not limited to brights. Pantone New York names White Onyx and Sage Green among its examples. Its London report includes six seasonless colors: Angora, Palm, White Onyx, Chocolate Truffle, Ether, and Evening Blue. That gives readers who prefer a lower-key palette options alongside the report’s more vivid shades. A neutral or seasonless color can anchor a bright accessory, or stand on its own.
