New additions
Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, and Anthony Carrigan are among the announced additions. The Associated Press reported from the July 2026 Comic-Con panel that Palmer’s and Lewis Pullman’s character descriptions had not been revealed. Gad told the audience he was playing a “mawg.” The AP also reported that the movie would honor original cast members who have died. The AP report covers the panel and the earlier title announcement.
Who is making the sequel?
Josh Greenbaum directs. Josh Gad, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit wrote the screenplay, according to Amazon MGM. ILM’s project credits list Will Reichelt as visual-effects supervisor, Stephen King as animation supervisor, Fiona Chilton as executive visual-effects producer, and Sarah Swick as visual-effects producer.

Will it stream, and when can viewers buy it?
No sequel streaming date or home-video release date appears in the reviewed official announcements. The theatrical date alone does not establish when or where the film will become available to watch at home. Amazon MGM and ILM have not confirmed a streaming service, physical release, or post-theatrical window in the linked material.
Are tickets or merchandise available?
The reviewed official sources do not name a ticket seller or merchandise partner for the sequel. No official sequel merchandise availability is established by those announcements. The available physical-product lead concerns the 1987 original, not the new film: a public Reddit discussion links to an Amazon UK Blu-ray listing, but its edition, stock, price, and region compatibility were not independently verified. The discussion is not an official sequel product announcement.
Has Spaceballs: The New One been reviewed?
Rotten Tomatoes showed zero reviews and zero verified audience ratings when checked on September 27, 2026. That dated listing reflects the status at that time; it is not a judgment on the film’s reception. See the Rotten Tomatoes listing.
