The available sources do not confirm a specific documentary that South Korea and Indonesia are jointly producing. They do not identify a project, its partners or subject, or any announcement, production or release plans. Two earlier Korea–Indonesia-related films provide context, but neither verifies the documentary described by the headline.
What is known about the reported documentary?
The claim remains unverified in the sources available here. No project-specific announcement was identified from producers, a broadcaster, a festival or a government body. As a result, the documentary’s title, subject, production companies, schedule and distribution plans are not established.

That distinction matters: a history of film collaboration or broader cultural exchange between the countries is not evidence that a new documentary has been commissioned or is in production.
Past Korea–Indonesia film projects are not confirmation
Fluid Boundaries was a separate three-country documentary
The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) lists Fluid Boundaries as an 87-minute documentary released June 30, 2016, with South Korea, Singapore and Indonesia listed as countries and the film marked as a co-production. Its directors were Vladimir Todorovic, Mun Jeonghyun and Daniel Rudi Haryanto. The synopsis concerns people crossing national or political borders. KOFIC’s record does not connect it to the project implied by the headline: KOFIC film record.

The Busan International Film Festival archive also records Fluid Boundaries as a 2014 production. That production-year entry and KOFIC’s 2016 release date are different kinds of dates; neither establishes a new joint-production announcement: Busan International Film Festival archive.
CADO CADO: Doctor 101 was a drama, not a documentary
In a November 7, 2016 report, KOFIC described CADO CADO: Doctor 101 as the first fully co-produced project between South Korea and Indonesia. The report calls it a medical comedy drama and says it opened in Indonesia on October 27, 2016. It is a precedent for a Korea–Indonesia film co-production, not evidence for the documentary in the headline: KOFIC report.

Why broader cooperation does not establish this film deal
KOFIC’s 2025 overview explains that international co-productions involve production companies from different countries and may include shared financing. It discusses other Korean international co-productions, including the Korea–Belgium documentary Reach for the SKY, but does not identify a matching Korea–Indonesia documentary: KOFIC overview.
South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has documented cultural exchange with Indonesia, including 2023 events marking 50 years of diplomatic relations. That is useful bilateral context, but it does not confirm a film agreement: MCST release. Likewise, the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival’s 2024 page describes an Asian documentary co-production network involving other countries; it does not establish the project described here: DMZ Docs network page.

What would verify the announcement?
A definitive account needs a project-specific statement from a producer or production company, broadcaster, festival or public agency. It should name the film and partners and clarify whether the parties have signed an agreement, begun production or merely discussed a possible collaboration. Until such a source is available, the claim that the two countries are jointly producing a particular documentary should be treated as unconfirmed.
