Some existing YouTube TV subscribers were shown a targeted offer of $20 off their current plan for four months, worth up to $80. The promotion was reported on February 9, 2026, and YouTube TV’s support community confirmed that it was available to selected accounts. It was not a universal sale, and there is no public confirmation that the same offer remains active in September 2026.
To see whether your account qualifies, check YouTube TV in a desktop or mobile browser—not the mobile app.
How to check for the offer
- Open tv.youtube.com in a browser.
- Sign in with the Google account attached to your active YouTube TV membership.
- Select your profile picture, then open Settings.
- Choose Membership, or find your current plan.
- Select Manage beside the plan or Base Plan.
- Look for wording such as “Get $20 off your current plan” for four months.
- Read the displayed terms, accept only if they suit you, and save a screenshot of the confirmation and end date.
The original report said the promotion did not work inside the YouTube TV mobile app. YouTube’s current plan-management guidance also directs subscribers to the web for actions that are unavailable in the iOS and Android apps. A mobile browser may work, although it can redirect to the app; a desktop browser is the safest option.

What the promotion offers
- Discount: $20 per month.
- Length: Four months.
- Maximum saving: $80.
- Scope: The reported message refers to the subscriber’s current plan.
- Availability: Targeted to selected accounts; Google has not published universal eligibility criteria.
YouTube announced a main plan price of $82.99 per month in February 2026. If the offer applies to that plan, the plan portion would be $62.99 per month during the discount, before taxes and add-ons. That is only an example: your account may have a different plan, legacy price, add-ons, or billing charges. The offer shown in your account controls.
Do not assume that the $20 comes off your entire invoice. Sports packages, premium networks, NFL Sunday Ticket, 4K Plus, and other optional services may be billed separately. Taxes and regulatory fees may also continue normally. YouTube describes add-ons as separate purchases in its plan announcement.

What happens after four months?
The available evidence does not establish a public renewal price or a universal expiration date. Unless your account’s terms say otherwise, expect the regular price for your plan to resume after the promotional period. Record the first discounted billing date and the date the offer ends, then check the first subsequent bill.
Read the terms before accepting. In particular, check whether changing plans, pausing, canceling, moving to another billing provider, or altering add-ons ends the promotion. YouTube TV’s plan-management guidance says switching plans while on a promotional price causes the promotion to be lost.

Why you may not see it
Not seeing the message does not necessarily mean you followed the wrong steps. Possible explanations include:
- Your account was not selected, or the promotion has expired or been withdrawn.
- You are signed into a different Google account.
- You are viewing the app rather than the web account page.
- Your membership is billed through Google Play, a mobile carrier, an internet provider, or another partner.
- Your membership is inactive or does not meet undisclosed account requirements.
- The offer is tied to a different plan or billing platform.
Verify the account and active membership, try a private browser window, and go directly to tv.youtube.com. Check Settings → Membership → Manage and review your payment or billing details. If the offer appeared but failed to apply, contact YouTube TV support. Avoid third-party “promo links” unless they are supplied by Google or appear inside your authenticated account.

Third-party billing can limit plan changes. YouTube says subscribers billed by a carrier or internet provider may need to contact that provider; moving to direct billing can require canceling through the existing platform and resubscribing. That can risk grandfathered pricing, add-ons, billing dates, or the targeted offer, so do not cancel merely to chase the discount.
Do not confuse it with the earlier $20 credit
This four-month discount appears separate from the one-time $20 credit associated with the 2025 loss of Disney-owned channels, including ESPN and ABC, during a contract dispute. Google’s support announcement described different handling for directly billed members and those billed through Google Play or another provider. The February 2026 report said some users could receive the newer four-month promotion in addition to that earlier credit, indicating that they were separate offers—not two descriptions of the same benefit.

Should you change plans to save more?
YouTube introduced genre-oriented plans in 2026, including Sports, News, Entertainment, and Family combinations. A cheaper plan may be better if it contains everything your household watches, but switching plans can immediately end a promotional price, change the billing date, and affect channels, recordings, or add-ons. YouTube says plan switches can produce a prorated credit, generally carry existing add-ons forward, and may change DVR access when channels are removed.
Compare the channels you actually need, local-station availability, sports and regional-sports requirements, DVR and simultaneous-stream features, and the full post-promotion price. Do not treat the temporary $20 saving as a reason to keep a service whose lineup no longer fits.

Bottom line
The reported offer is legitimate but targeted, not guaranteed. Check your authenticated YouTube TV account in a browser, confirm exactly what is discounted and when the regular price returns, and avoid changing plans or billing providers until you understand the consequences. As of September 2026, the original February promotion may no longer be available.
