Solo Leveling is continuing, but its next formally announced animated project is a theatrical film—not a dated Season 3. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System was announced on July 3, 2026, as a continuation of the anime after Season 2. Crunchyroll leadership has also reportedly said the creators are working toward the next show, but no Season 3 release date or formal production schedule has been announced. Separately, Netflix has confirmed a Korean live-action series starring Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jinwoo. This status summary reflects announcements and reporting available through August 18, 2026.
The next confirmed anime project is Beyond the System
Season 2, titled Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow, concluded in March 2025. The next formally announced animated continuation is Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a theatrical anime film announced by Crunchyroll and Aniplex at the Crunchyroll Showcase during Anime Expo on July 3, 2026.
The announcement describes the film as continuing Sung Jinwoo’s story from where Season 2 ended. A-1 Pictures is returning, with Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media and Kakao Piccoma named among the partners in the announcement. This is a new continuation, not the same kind of project as Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, the earlier compilation film that recapped material from the first season and previewed Season 2.

There is no officially announced release date in the sources reviewed. The announcement also does not provide a full synopsis, runtime, complete cast, ticketing details or a confirmed international theatrical rollout. Is Solo Leveling Season 3 confirmed?
Not as a formally announced, dated television season. GamesRadar reported that Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said the creators are actively working toward the next Solo Leveling show and that fans should hear more when the timing is right. That is a meaningful development signal, but it is not equivalent to an official Season 3 title announcement, production schedule, trailer or release date.
The film confirms that the anime franchise is continuing; it does not settle what format the next chapter after Season 2 will take. A-1 Pictures’ return is confirmed for Beyond the System, but that fact alone does not establish a Season 3 production schedule or confirm the studio for a future television season. The most accurate summary is: Season 3 has no announced date, while the film is the animated continuation with a formal title and production announcement. Does the film replace Season 3?
There is no official announcement that Season 3 has been canceled or replaced by the film. Several possibilities remain open: the movie could bridge the gap to a later season, cover a substantial stretch of story, or serve as a theatrical continuation with its own pacing and scope. Until the producers clarify the plan, none of those possibilities should be presented as fact. The film is not officially identified as “Season 3.”

Netflix’s live-action series is a separate adaptation
Netflix officially announced a Korean live-action Solo Leveling series in July 2025. Byeon Woo-seok was announced as Sung Jinwoo, and Kakao Entertainment and SANAI Pictures are producing. Netflix’s announcement cited 14.3 billion cumulative worldwide views for the web novel and webtoon; that is the company’s stated franchise metric, not a count of anime viewers or unique people.
The live-action series is separate from the anime film and does not establish anything about Season 3’s timing. Netflix’s announcement confirms the project and lead casting, but the reviewed source does not give a release date or window, episode count, supporting cast, complete director and writing team, or the story arcs the first season will cover. It also does not establish whether the series will release worldwide at once or explain how its terminology and supernatural action will be adapted. Games are another active branch of the franchise
Solo Leveling: ARISE
Netmarble’s Solo Leveling: ARISE is a free-to-play action RPG available on mobile and PC, with an adaptation of the webtoon alongside game-original content. Players develop Sung Jinwoo and use other hunters in action combat. It receives ongoing story and gameplay updates, so its content is a changing live-service snapshot rather than a fixed version of the story.

The game is optional franchise entertainment, not a substitute for the anime’s next chapter. Its free-to-play model includes in-app purchases, and the US App Store listing identifies optional purchases, including a monthly Hunters Association Premium subscription. Prices and availability can vary by platform, account and region; the game does not require a purchase simply because it is free to download. It may suit players who enjoy recurring progression and events, but is a poorer fit for anyone who dislikes collection mechanics, grinding or ongoing monetization. As a dated example of the live-service updates, Netmarble’s July 2, 2026 update added SSR hunter Agnes Rivera, Main Story Chapters 24 and 25 on Expert difficulty, Hidden Chapters 5 and 6, equipment and skills, a five-player Arcane Trials dungeon, and expanded progression systems. Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE
ARISE OVERDRIVE is a separate premium action RPG, not simply an update to the mobile ARISE. Its official materials describe a webtoon story adaptation, additional game-exclusive adventures, combat built around weapon combinations and parries, and four-player cooperative raids. PC and Xbox storefront listings are available, though purchase availability may depend on territory. The storefronts are the best places to check current regional availability and price; the reviewed material does not establish one universal price.

The available information here does not establish a confirmed release date, price, platform list or launch status, so it should not be described as a released game. Keep the distinction clear: ARISE and ARISE OVERDRIVE have active product listings, while a project being presented or planned is not automatically available to play. What about Solo Leveling: Ragnarok?
Ragnarok is commonly discussed as a sequel or spinoff branch of the Solo Leveling universe, but its exact current publication status and schedule are not established by the authoritative current source material available for this briefing. For playable content, choose ARISE if free-to-play progression suits you, or consider ARISE OVERDRIVE if you want a separate premium PC/Xbox experience. Neither game is required to follow the anime.
