Why was Robyn grieving the plural-family dream?
Robyn said, “I always wanted to live a plural marriage.” She described the loss as taking away choices she had imagined for her life and said she was “completely and utterly heartbroken.” She also spoke of struggling with her identity and no longer seeing the future she had envisioned: “I’m struggling with my identity and what does it mean and I don’t see my future anymore and the hopes and dreams that I had were just disappearing before my eyes.”

What had happened to the rest of the family?
The Yahoo report places the conversation after Kody’s relationships with Christine, Janelle, and Meri had ended. It says the breakdowns unfolded over approximately 14 months. The couple were preparing for their first Christmas without the three women, making the holiday a concrete reminder of the family arrangement Robyn had hoped to preserve.
The report also says Meri requested a spiritual release from the couple’s church and that it was granted on grounds of abandonment.
