The episode listing also reports Janelle warning Meri about trusting Kody over the Coyote Pass property, Christine and David house shopping after dating for only a few months, and the family gathering for Gwendlyn’s bridal shower. These are reported episode beats; they are not all independently confirmed in the available recap summary.
Why is the engagement gathering awkward?
It brings former and current family relationships into the same room. Kody and Robyn’s first meeting with David takes place while Christine is building a new relationship, against the backdrop of the Browns’ changed family dynamics. The awkwardness comes from that convergence, not from the engagement itself.
