Mykelti Padron later said that the family had additional plans to honor Garrison, including a future reunion in Wyoming. That later event should not be confused with the private Arizona viewing or funeral.

A separate memorial honored his military service
Garrison’s relatives and friends also attended a separate military memorial connected with his service in the Nevada Army National Guard. Secondary reports identified him as Staff Sgt. Robert Garrison Brown and associated him with the 1st Squadron, 221st Cavalry.
The military memorial was distinct from the early-March family gathering in Arizona. It should also be distinguished from the later burial of Garrison’s ashes in Wyoming. Available reports support describing the Guard event as a memorial honoring his service, but the wording of any original National Guard announcement should be checked before being quoted directly.
