A fan turned Silent Hill 2 remake’s pizza-box Pyramid Head cosmetic into a physical mask. EGW.News credited Reddit user jessilyncupcake with the handmade prop and reported that it was intended for a group cosplay photoshoot with their partner. The available reporting does not confirm whether the photoshoot took place.
A joke cosmetic made into a physical prop
The real-life pizza-box Pyramid Head mask takes its cue from an intentionally absurd in-game look: a fearsome character’s headgear recast as a pizza box. EGW.News reported on October 27, 2024, that Reddit user jessilyncupcake recreated the look as a mask inspired by the remake. The report described a group cosplay photoshoot with the creator’s partner as the plan, not a confirmed event; it does not establish that the shoot happened or show its results. What the pizza-box mask is in the game
PlayStation announced on May 30, 2024, that the Silent Hill 2 remake would launch on October 8, 2024. The same announcement identifies the pizza-box Pyramid Head mask as an in-game cosmetic included with the Digital Deluxe Edition—not a physical helmet. PlayStation’s announcement also listed Mira the Dog and Robbie the Rabbit masks as preorder bonuses for the standard and Deluxe editions, with Robbie identified as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The Deluxe preorder offer included 48-hour early access; those were terms announced for that preorder, not a statement of current availability.
Could you make a cardboard Pyramid Head helmet?
Cardboard is a separate DIY route for anyone inspired to build a larger Pyramid Head helmet. In another Reddit post, maker Shollern28 shared a helmet template based on dimensions from a statue and said it could be used for a cardboard build or a full cosplay. That post does not show that jessilyncupcake used the template, so it should not be treated as the pattern behind the pizza-box mask. See Shollern28’s template post.
