When was Shrek The Musical in Perth?
The Crown Theatre Perth run was 3–6 October 2024. PerthNow’s article, published on 2 October, reported that the production had already visited Albany, Bunbury and Mandurah before arriving in Perth. The headline described the Southwest dates as “sell outs,” but the article’s body was more cautious: producer Layton Lillas said many performances were close to selling out, while tickets could still be found. The report gives no attendance total or independently verified count of sold-out shows. Read the PerthNow report.

The stage production is based on the DreamWorks Animation motion picture and William Steig’s book. David Lindsay-Abaire wrote the book and lyrics, and Jeanine Tesori composed the music. PerthNow described the Perth production as a New Zealand-inspired take on the modern fairytale.
