Katie Austin, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2022 co-Rookie of the Year, announced her engagement to Lane Armstrong on April 2, 2023. Armstrong had proposed on a beach two days earlier. The engagement was a milestone in their story, not their current status: the couple married on May 4, 2024.
How Lane Armstrong proposed to Katie Austin
Armstrong proposed on March 31, 2023, according to SI Swimsuit’s April 2023 report. The proposal took place on a beach, where a walkway was decorated with white roses and candles. The setup also included a blanket, champagne and bouquets.
Austin announced the engagement on Instagram on April 2. SI Swimsuit reproduced her caption: “YES YES YES YES X 10000 MILLION YES!!!!! I can’t wait to be your WIFE❤️❤️❤️.”
How Austin and Armstrong met
SI Swimsuit reported that Austin and Armstrong met on The League in 2020. The same 2023 report described Armstrong as vice president of Rialto Capital Management at the time; that job title is a dated detail, not confirmation of his current role.
