Shark CryoGlow LED Mask Review: Is Its Cooling-and-Light Treatment Worth $350?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Short answer: Shark’s CryoGlow LED Face Mask is a credible option if you specifically want red, infrared and blue light in one wireless mask plus built-in under-eye cooling. Beauty Director Jenna Rosenstein says she used it for more than a year and noticed a de-puffing effect and improvements in the appearance of tone and texture. Those are her observations, not clinical proof that the mask is the “best” LED device or that you will see the same results. The review listed it at $350 on September 25, 2026; verify today’s price, model and availability before buying.

What the CryoGlow is—and what “worth it” means here

The Shark CryoGlow is a consumer LED face mask that combines three light bands with removable-feeling under-eye cooling built into the treatment area. Its four programs are designed around wrinkle care, acne care, a shorter combined routine and cooling without light. The practical question is not whether one review proves it is the best LED mask available; no systematic head-to-head test appears in the cited material. The useful question is whether this particular combination of wavelengths, treatment lengths, fit and cooling suits your concerns well enough to justify its cost.

Harper’s Bazaar’s Jenna Rosenstein, identified as a Beauty Director, is the source of the first-person testing account. Her article was updated September 25, 2026 and says she used the mask for more than a year. The long-term use and visual changes she describes are personal impressions, not an independently verified clinical outcome.

What the FDA record does—and does not—establish

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s AccessGUDID entry identifies CryoGlow model FW312PL as commercially distributed. The FDA 510(k) summary K242796, dated November 13, 2024, places it in the Class II over-the-counter wrinkle-reduction device category under 21 CFR 878.4810. The intended use in that record is specific: treatment of mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne and fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

A 510(k) clearance means the device was found substantially equivalent to a legally marketed predicate for the stated use. It is not a blanket FDA endorsement of every cosmetic claim, a promise of visible improvement, or confirmation that every person will tolerate the mask. Keep the record in that narrow context when weighing marketing language and an individual reviewer’s experience.

How the four treatment modes differ

The review describes four distinct routines. Three use light; Under-Eye Revive uses cooling only. Durations are built into the programs rather than left entirely to the user.

Mode Length or setting Light or cooling Positioning
Better Aging Six minutes Red plus infrared Fine-line and general skin-aging concerns
Skin Clearing Eight minutes Blue Acne-focused routine
Skin Sustain Four minutes Red, blue and infrared together Combined maintenance treatment
Under-Eye Revive Five, 10 or 15 minutes; three chill levels Cooling with no light Under-eye de-puffing or refreshment

SharkNinja’s published product information lists 480 light sources made up of 160 tri-wick LEDs. It gives the red wavelength as 630 nanometers, infrared as 830 nanometers and blue as 415 nanometers. Check that the product page and model you are considering match the market and variant you intend to purchase; specifications and included components can change.

What the quoted dermatologists say about the colors

Harper’s Bazaar quotes dermatologist Howard Sobel saying, “The red light can reduce fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the fibroblasts. Additionally, they can reduce inflammation, increase blood circulation, and stimulate wound healing.” The same article quotes dermatologist David Kim: “Blue light can help with acne, red light can help with inflammation, and near-infrared light can help with collagen stimulation.”

Those statements describe proposed uses and mechanisms for light colors in dermatology. They do not guarantee that CryoGlow will produce a particular result, and they are not a substitute for a diagnosis or treatment plan. The cited article is a consumer review, not the original interview transcript or a controlled trial of this mask.

What each wavelength means for your buying decision

The published numbers help you compare devices, but a wavelength alone does not tell you how much light reaches skin. Output, distance from the face, treatment duration and coverage also matter, and those details are not fully established here. Treat the 630-, 830- and 415-nanometer figures as Shark’s specifications for this model, not as a guarantee of dose or performance.

Red and near-infrared appear together in Better Aging, while blue is used alone in Skin Clearing. Skin Sustain combines all three in four minutes. That arrangement may appeal to someone who wants one mask for multiple concerns, but it also means you should choose a program intentionally rather than assuming every session delivers every benefit. Under-Eye Revive is separate: its cooling pads operate without light, so it is a different feature rather than a fifth light setting.

What Rosenstein reports after more than a year

Rosenstein says she liked the cooling and de-puffing sensation, and that repeated use appeared to improve the look of her skin tone and texture. Her routine began with Under-Eye Revive, followed by alternating Better Aging and Skin Sustain. She also describes using the mask while recovering after Fraxel treatment and perceiving less swelling and improved tone and texture during that period.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Fraxel account is especially important to interpret correctly: it is an anecdote, not evidence that CryoGlow is safe or advisable immediately after a laser procedure. Laser aftercare depends on the treatment settings, your skin and your clinician’s instructions. Do not copy that post-procedure use without explicit clearance from the professional who performed your treatment.

Comfort and design drawbacks she noticed

  • The attached remote felt somewhat heavy.
  • The cooling fans were audible, and they continued briefly after the cooling program ended.
  • Metal cooling pads covered part of the under-eye area, obstructing some light from reaching that skin.

These are useful fit and usability observations rather than universal measurements. A mask that feels manageable for a short four-minute program may feel different during repeated 15-minute cooling sessions, and the amount of under-eye coverage depends on facial fit.

Who benefits most from the cooling feature?

Cooling is the feature that most clearly separates CryoGlow from a basic light-only mask. It can be run without illumination, with three chill levels and five-, 10- or 15-minute choices. That flexibility lets you use the device for a brief refresh or a longer cooling session without adding another tool to your routine. Rosenstein specifically valued the de-puffing sensation, but her perception should not be read as proof of a measured reduction in swelling for every user.

The cooling hardware also creates compromises. The fans make some sound, continue briefly after the program and may be distracting if you want a silent routine. The metal pads occupy part of the under-eye area, so the skin beneath them may receive less light. If under-eye light exposure is your priority, inspect photographs and return terms carefully and consider whether that obstruction defeats the purpose of your purchase.

Is $350 a sensible purchase?

The article’s $350 figure is tied to its September 25, 2026 update. It is not a verified current sale price, and the available material does not establish a current marketplace listing, color or exact package contents. Before paying, confirm the model, warranty, return window, included charger or accessories, and whether the seller is authorized.

The case for buying

  • You want red, infrared and blue programs in one device rather than separate tools.
  • Under-eye cooling is a meaningful feature for your routine, not merely an occasional novelty.
  • Short preset sessions make it easier for you to use a device consistently.
  • You are comfortable treating the reviewer’s visible changes as an encouraging anecdote, not a promised outcome.
  • You prefer wireless operation and USB-C charging over a mask that must remain tethered.

Reasons to pass or wait

  • Your only goal is under-eye cooling; paying for three light bands may add cost and weight you will not use.
  • You are highly sensitive to fan noise, a heavier remote or pressure around the eyes.
  • You expect FDA clearance to guarantee wrinkle, acne or tone results.
  • You need a mask with unobstructed light coverage directly beneath the eyes.
  • You have a recent procedure, photosensitivity concern or unexplained skin reaction and have not discussed light treatment with a clinician.
  • You are unlikely to follow a regular schedule; an expensive device that stays in a drawer is poor value regardless of its specifications.

There is no evidence in the cited sources that this mask outperforms every competing LED device. “Best” is therefore a fit decision: the cooling/light combination may be unusually appealing, while the same hardware trade-offs may make another design more practical for you.

How to use the device without overinterpreting results

  1. Confirm the exact device. Match the seller’s model and packaging to the CryoGlow variant you intend to buy. The FDA record names FW312PL, but the reviewed variant and current retail listing were not established in the available material.
  2. Charge before the first session. The review describes USB-C charging and wireless operation. Use the supplied charging guidance and do not operate a damaged cable, port or mask.
  3. Clean and inspect the contact surfaces. Follow the current manufacturer directions for cleaning. Check that the cooling pads, straps, remote and charging port are intact before placing the mask on your face.
  4. Start with one program. Choose Better Aging, Skin Clearing, Skin Sustain or Under-Eye Revive according to your concern. Do not stack extra sessions simply because a short program feels comfortable; follow the current manufacturer instructions.
  5. Set cooling deliberately. Under-Eye Revive offers five-, 10- or 15-minute durations and three chill levels. Begin at a tolerable setting, particularly if you are unfamiliar with facial cooling.
  6. Keep expectations measurable. Decide what you are watching for—such as tolerance, the appearance of a specific breakout pattern or overall texture—rather than judging your face immediately after every session.
  7. Track tolerance and changes. Note redness, stinging, swelling, unusual heat or discomfort and stop if symptoms are concerning. Photographing under similar lighting can help distinguish a genuine gradual change from day-to-day variation.
  8. Ask before using after procedures. The reviewer’s Fraxel experience does not establish a safe post-laser protocol. Follow your dermatologist’s or laser clinician’s aftercare instructions instead.

Consistency matters more than dramatic single-session impressions, but no independently published clinical outcome statistic for this specific mask was established in the cited sources. A lack of visible change is not proof that you used it incorrectly, and a perceived change is not proof of a treatment effect.

Safety signals and limits of the evidence

FDA’s MAUDE database contains individual reports associated with CryoGlow, including redness, irritation or burning, swelling and an electric-shock complaint. These reports are surveillance signals. They do not by themselves prove that the device caused each event, indicate how often events occur, or provide a population-level risk percentage. The available records do not settle the frequency or mechanism of those complaints.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use the manufacturer’s contraindications and instructions for your model, and seek professional advice if you have a condition or medication that makes light exposure or cooling a concern. Stop using the mask and obtain medical guidance for persistent burning, marked swelling, blistering, electrical symptoms or other unexpected reactions. Do not use a damaged device or continue a session to “push through” pain.

What to verify before checkout

Because the review price and the FDA model record do not establish a current retail package, use the checkout page as a final fact check. Confirm that the listing names Shark CryoGlow, shows the same model or market variant you intend to buy and states what is included. Look for the current warranty and return period, particularly if you are unsure whether the cooling pads will sit comfortably or whether the attached remote feels too heavy.

Also check who is selling the product. A manufacturer page, an authorized retailer and a third-party marketplace can have different stock, colors, bundles and return terms. The reported $350 is a historical reference point from the September 25, 2026 article update, not a promise that every seller charges that amount. Avoid assuming that an unusually low price includes the same accessories or warranty.

How to compare CryoGlow with another LED mask

If you are considering a different device, compare like with like instead of relying on a generic LED count or influencer ranking. The following checklist keeps the decision grounded in verifiable details.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Comparison point Questions to answer
Intended use and regulation What exact condition or cosmetic use is stated for the model? Is there a device record or clearance, and what does it actually cover?
Light output Which colors and wavelengths are published? Are treatment durations preset, adjustable or unspecified?
Coverage and fit Does the mask sit evenly on your face? Do eye shields or cooling plates block areas you want treated?
Extra features Is cooling, vibration or another feature central to your routine, or does it add complexity?
Daily usability How does it charge, how heavy is the controller, and how much noise does it make?
After-sales terms What is the current price, warranty, return period and replacement-part policy?

For CryoGlow specifically, the cited sources establish the three published wavelengths, four programs, wireless USB-C use and the under-eye cooling design. They do not establish a controlled comparison of results, comfort scores or durability against other masks. A competitor with fewer light types could still be the better choice if it fits more securely, covers your target areas more evenly or has clearer service terms.

Who is most likely to be satisfied?

CryoGlow makes the most sense for someone who values a single, short-session device and will actually use both its light programs and cooling feature. The four-minute Skin Sustain routine and six-minute Better Aging routine may fit a busy schedule, while Skin Clearing takes eight minutes. Under-Eye Revive can be run independently for five, 10 or 15 minutes when cooling—not light—is the priority.

It is a weaker value for a buyer seeking a clinical-grade acne treatment, guaranteed collagen change or a completely silent, featherweight mask. The FDA record supports a limited intended use, and the reviewer’s impressions cannot fill the gap between regulatory clearance and a personal guarantee.

Verdict

Shark CryoGlow is worth considering at the reported $350 only if its defining combination—three light bands plus adjustable under-eye cooling—matches what you will use consistently. Rosenstein’s more-than-a-year account supports the device as a promising, enjoyable routine for her, especially for cooling and perceived tone and texture changes. It does not establish that CryoGlow is objectively the best LED mask, nor that the same improvements will occur for you. Verify the current price and model, read the latest instructions, and treat the FDA record and MAUDE reports with their proper limits before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Shark CryoGlow FDA approved?

The FDA record identifies model FW312PL and the 510(k) summary K242796 classifies it as a Class II over-the-counter wrinkle-reduction device. The listed intended use is treatment of mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne and fine lines and wrinkles. Clearance is not a blanket endorsement of every cosmetic claim or a guarantee of results.

How long does each CryoGlow treatment take?

Better Aging runs for six minutes, Skin Clearing for eight minutes and Skin Sustain for four minutes. Under-Eye Revive is cooling only and can be set for five, 10 or 15 minutes at one of three chill levels.

What wavelengths does the mask use?

SharkNinja lists red light at 630 nanometers, infrared at 830 nanometers and blue light at 415 nanometers. The manufacturer also lists 480 light sources made up of 160 tri-wick LEDs.

Does the mask help under-eye bags?

Jenna Rosenstein reports liking the cooling and de-puffing sensation. That is a personal observation, not an independently measured outcome or a promise that the mask will reduce bags or swelling for every user.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I use CryoGlow after Fraxel or another laser treatment?

Do not rely on the reviewer’s anecdotal post-Fraxel use as a protocol. Ask the clinician who performed your procedure when, or whether, LED light and cooling are appropriate for your skin and treatment settings.

What are the main drawbacks?

The review notes a somewhat heavy attached remote, audible cooling fans that continue briefly after a session and metal cooling pads that block some light from reaching the under-eye area.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: CryoGlow’s value is its combination of three published light bands, short preset sessions and adjustable under-eye cooling—not proof that it is universally the best LED mask. Buy only after confirming the current model, price, warranty and return terms, and keep the reviewer’s results in the category of personal experience.
