What the tributes reveal—and what they do not
Taken together, the messages show how Doherty’s former castmates remembered her as a friend, colleague and forceful creative presence. They are personal accounts, not a single shared verdict on every relationship or on-set history. Garth’s description of mutual respect and Milano’s acknowledgment of a complicated relationship each offer specific perspective; neither speaks for everyone who worked with Doherty.
The initial responses were reported by ABC News and CBS News on July 15, 2024; TVLine’s July 14 report gathered additional cast statements and a FOX network tribute. The comments reflect different relationships and forms of mourning, rather than a uniform reaction.
