As of October 8, 2026, that return is in the past: WWE later listed Rollins in a match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. His earlier comments about hoping to make WrestleMania were forecasts, not a confirmed return date.
When did Seth Rollins return from injury?
Rollins returned before WrestleMania 42 and wrestled Gunther at the event, according to WWE’s profile and a May 2026 interview report. The report described it as his first match back after six months out. The available accounts establish his return to competition, not a new medical evaluation or diagnosis.
Seth Rollins’ injury timeline
November 26, 2025: hopeful forecast, not a firm date
In comments on Bert Kreischer’s Something’s Burning, reported by Pro Wrestling Dot Net, Rollins said he hoped to return in time for WrestleMania and expected to begin focused training in February. He also said the original prognosis called for an April return. These were expectations he described at the time, not a guarantee that he would be cleared or compete on a particular date.
January 14, 2026: making progress, still unsure when he would return
In an update reported by PWMania, Rollins said he had undergone surgery nearly three months earlier and could manage most ordinary daily activities. He also said he did not know exactly when he would return. This is a dated account of his recovery then, rather than a current medical assessment.

May 9, 2026: Rollins described a difficult comeback
In comments reproduced by the interview report, Rollins said, “First match back after six months on the shelf, so the physical side of things was a bit of a trial.” He also described worrying about regression or reinjury during the match and said he was relieved by how he came through. “I was really happy to get through WrestleMania and not have what I felt was a regression,” he said.
