The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse is a manga by Nakaba Suzuki set in the world of The Seven Deadly Sins. It follows Percival, a boy raised with his grandfather in a remote place called God’s Finger, whose life changes when an encounter sends him out into Britannia. It is a sequel, but Kodansha says new readers can enjoy it on its own.
What is Four Knights of the Apocalypse about?
Percival lives a quiet, isolated life with his grandfather at God’s Finger. An encounter with the mysterious knight Ironside disrupts that life and sets Percival on a journey into the wider world. Beyond his home, Britannia faces a prophecy of doom, giving the story its central threat without requiring newcomers to know the earlier series’ plot.
The official Japanese anime site places the story 16 years after the Holy War. That makes it a continuation in the same fictional world, while its opening focuses on a new young protagonist and his departure from home.
Can you read it without reading The Seven Deadly Sins?
Yes. Kodansha described the manga as “a new story in the world of The Seven Deadly Sins, but can be enjoyed totally on its own!” That is the publisher’s guidance, not a statement attributed to Suzuki. The series remains a sequel, so readers familiar with the earlier manga may recognize more of the setting and its history, but Kodansha does not present that background as a prerequisite.

Where should a new reader start?
Start with Four Knights of the Apocalypse, volume 1. It introduces Percival and the circumstances that launch his journey; you do not need to begin with The Seven Deadly Sins to follow the new story. Kodansha’s official catalog lists the manga and its volumes: Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga.
Is there an anime adaptation?
Yes. Netflix lists an anime adaptation and describes it as a 2024 series, with a spoiler-light synopsis centered on Percival’s journey as a prophecy unfolds in Britannia. The Japanese official anime site says the second season’s Japanese network broadcast began October 6, 2024.
