What Selena Gomez’s ring looks like
Photos show a marquise-cut center diamond—a long, pointed oval shape—set above yellow-gold pavé shoulders. Who designed it, and what inspired the design?
In a December 27, 2024 interview with ELLE, jewelry designers Katherine Theofilos Claster and Stephanie Theofilos of Abril Barret said Blanco was involved in the design. Claster said he had a specific vision, including the center stone’s marquise cut, and that the team developed multiple approaches before settling on the final ring. She described their aim as an heirloom feel with a modern touch.
ELLE reported that the center stone sits in a cathedral setting and that the ring has an eternity band. Later ELLE coverage connected Gomez’s preference for a marquise diamond with her 2015 song “Good for You”; that is reported context, not proof that the lyric alone determined the ring’s design. Gomez announced the engagement in December 2024 with an Instagram post captioned “Forever begins now,” as reported by the Associated Press. The announcement established the engagement; it did not disclose the ring’s carat weight or cost.
