Marvel Studios screened a scene from Thunderbolts* in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con on July 27, 2024. Disney’s official recap confirms the screening and the cast appearance; contemporaneous reports from inside the presentation describe footage of Yelena Belova and Alexei Shostakov reuniting, Ghost in a new suit, and the characters discovering that their missions may be traps.
What Marvel officially confirmed at SDCC
In its July 26, 2024 event recap, The Walt Disney Company UK Press said the audience was shown a scene from Thunderbolts*. The event featured director Jake Schreier and cast members Geraldine Viswanathan, Lewis Pullman, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan and David Harbour. Disney noted that Harbour appeared in full Red Guardian garb.
Disney described the film in promotional terms as “an irreverent team-up featuring depressed assassin Yelena Belova alongside the MCU’s least anticipated band of misfits.” That is the studio’s characterization, not a neutral account of the footage.
What attendees reported seeing
Disney confirmed a scene was screened, but its public recap does not provide a full account of the material shown. The additional details below come from reporters covering the presentation, not an official transcript or complete public release of the footage.

Its cast listing includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer and Wendell Edward Pierce.
