Campbell and Cox are both listed in the cast; the specifics of their characters’ encounters should not be inferred from that alone.
What the official Scream 7 setup says
Paramount’s synopsis places Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) in a quiet town where she has built a new life. A new Ghostface killer emerges there, and Sidney’s daughter, played by Isabel May, becomes the next target. The studio says Sidney must protect her family and face her past.
That establishes the central threat: Ghostface is targeting Sidney’s daughter, drawing Sidney back into danger. It does not, by itself, establish that previous killers return or that Sidney and Gale Weathers confront “old Ghostfaces.” The headline’s wording is best understood as a tease or interpretation, not a detail confirmed by the official synopsis.
Are Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox in the film?
Yes. Paramount lists Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox in the cast. Isabel May is also central to the announced premise as Sidney’s daughter. The cast listing confirms who is involved, but it does not reveal the characters’ fates or specify which scenes or confrontations appear in the trailer.

Paramount’s trailer announcement also lists Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons and Mark Consuelos. A later Paramount release from May 2026 additionally lists David Arquette, Roger L. Jackson and Matthew Lillard. Being named in a cast list is not evidence on its own that a character survives, returns from an earlier film, or appears in a particular trailer scene.
Who made Scream 7?
Kevin Williamson directed the film. Paramount credits Williamson and Guy Busick with the screenplay, and James Vanderbilt and Busick with the story. Williamson’s directing role is a distinct credit from his screenplay credit.
