School Spirits had a strong U.S. launch for Season 3, reaching No. 2 on Paramount+’s daily TV chart on January 28, 2026—the day the new season premiered. It remained No. 2 on January 29 before ranking No. 3 on January 30 and 31. That is meaningful momentum for the supernatural teen mystery, but it should not be confused with a No. 1 ranking across every streaming service in the United States.
What the Paramount+ chart shows
The available daily Paramount+ report for January 25–31, 2026, places School Spirits near the top of the platform’s U.S. TV ranking immediately after Season 3 arrived:
| Date | School Spirits position | Context |
|---|---|---|
| January 28 | No. 2 | Season 3 premiered |
| January 29 | No. 2 | Held its position |
| January 30 | No. 3 | South Park was No. 1 |
| January 31 | No. 3 | Still among Paramount+’s leading TV titles |
The timing strongly connects the chart movement with the premiere. Paramount+ released three Season 3 episodes on Wednesday, January 28, followed by one additional episode each week. The immediate result was a debut just below the top spot and a four-day run near the summit of Paramount+’s own daily list. [C001] [C002] [C003]
Other titles appearing in the same ranking included Landman, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Tulsa King, and SpongeBob SquarePants. South Park occupied No. 1 during the latter part of the reported period. [C001]

What “surges on the U.S. streaming charts” does—and does not—mean
The most accurate description is that School Spirits surged on Paramount+’s U.S. daily TV chart. The ranking is platform-specific and does not establish that the series was the most-watched show in America, the top title across all streaming services, or a Nielsen Top 10 program for the week.
That distinction matters because different streaming charts measure different things. The Paramount+ list cited here is a daily ranking within one service. Nielsen’s published streaming charts use their own methodology, title definitions, measurement windows, and cross-platform scope. No verified Nielsen minutes-viewed figure for Season 3 during January 25–31, 2026, was identified in the available research. [C001] [C005]
Accordingly, the chart supports a claim of strong launch interest—not a universal U.S. streaming championship. A headline saying that the show “jumped to No. 2 on Paramount+’s daily U.S. TV chart” is supported. Saying that it “topped the U.S. streaming charts” would be broader than the evidence allows.
Why Season 3 created fresh momentum
School Spirits follows Maddie Nears, a teenager investigating her own disappearance while trapped in a high-school afterlife. Season 3 continues the mystery surrounding the school and its spirit world while developing Simon’s situation and Mr. Martin’s secrets. Paramount’s official Season 3 guide presents those unresolved questions as central to the new episodes. [C003]

That combination of a sizable premiere-day batch and an established audience can help explain why the show appeared so high on Paramount+’s ranking as soon as the new season became available.

The chart rise was also part of a broader franchise story. Paramount Global Content lists Seasons 1–3 as a 24-episode Paramount+ young-adult series and says the show has been renewed for Season 4. The renewal confirms that School Spirits remains an active franchise, although no verified Season 4 premiere date was available in the official sources reviewed. It would therefore be premature to suggest that Season 4 is arriving soon. [C004] [C006]
Earlier audience growth provides context—but not a Season 3 measurement
Paramount’s March 2025 Season 3 renewal announcement said that Season 2 averaged 3.9 million viewers during its first 28 days, representing a 94% increase over the Season 1 premiere according to Paramount’s own measurement. That is useful evidence of franchise growth, but it is a company-reported figure for Season 2—not an independent Nielsen result and not a reported Season 3 audience total. [C006]
No official Season 3 first-28-day audience figure or verified number of minutes viewed was found in the research available for this article. The January chart positions are therefore the clearest current indicator of the season’s immediate launch performance.

Additional audience signals
JustWatch showed School Spirits with an 87% user rating and an IMDb score of approximately 7.6 out of 10 when checked on August 11, 2026. JustWatch also reported a historical peak of No. 3 on its own U.S. daily streaming chart and four days in its Top 10. Those figures suggest sustained user interest, but they measure activity such as clicking a viewing offer, adding a title to a watchlist, or marking it as seen—not minutes watched. They should not be combined with the Paramount+ ranking or treated as Nielsen data. [C007]
The soundtrack is available digitally, too
Fans interested in the show’s music can find official Season 1 and Season 2 soundtrack listings on Amazon Music. The available evidence concerns digital albums; it does not establish that a physical CD or vinyl edition exists. [C008] [C009]

School Spirits clearly made a strong start on Paramount+ in the United States. It debuted at No. 2 on the platform’s daily TV chart on January 28, stayed there on January 29, and remained in the top three through January 31. With three episodes released at launch, a growing franchise, and a confirmed Season 4 renewal, the result is a meaningful sign of momentum.
The precise conclusion is narrower than “America’s most-watched show”: Season 3 generated strong immediate interest on Paramount+’s U.S. chart. A definitive claim about the entire U.S. streaming market would require a separate cross-platform measurement from Nielsen, Luminate, Samba TV, or a comparable authority.
