Saquon Barkley has two publicly identified children with Anna Congdon: daughter Jada Clare Barkley and son Saquon Jr., often called S.J. or SJ. Jada was born in 2018, and Saquon Jr. was born in September 2022.
Public reporting identifies two children shared by Saquon Barkley and Anna Congdon: daughter Jada Clare Barkley and son Saquon Jr., who is also called S.J. or SJ.
Because both children are minors, the publicly documented details are limited to their names, reported birth information, a few family appearances and Barkley’s own broad comments about fatherhood. There is no reliable public basis for adding private details about their school, home, health, schedule or personal social-media accounts.
Jada Clare Barkley
Jada Clare Barkley was born on April 24, 2018, shortly before her father entered the NFL as the New York Giants’ second-overall pick. ESPN reported that Barkley announced her birth on Instagram and identified her by her full name.

Jada’s name has a personal story. In a discussion reported by ABC News from an NFL Films feature, Barkley explained that Anna Congdon had assembled a list of possible names and that he chose “Jada.”
Barkley has also described Jada as an important influence on his outlook. During his rookie season, he told ESPN that coming home to his daughter after a difficult game helped him remember that life involved more than football. His mother likewise described him as an involved father.
He has spoken about wanting to serve as a role model for Jada and to set a positive standard for how she understands the men in her life. Those comments are among the clearest public insights into Barkley’s approach to parenting, but they do not provide a basis for guessing about Jada’s private personality or day-to-day life.
Jada’s public appearances
Jada has appeared publicly with her family more often than her younger brother. She attended NFL Honors with her parents and was photographed with Barkley at Super Bowl LIX in February 2025. After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, she joined her father during a postgame interview and congratulated him.

That Super Bowl moment attracted attention because it showed Jada sharing in a major professional milestone with Barkley. It should still be understood as a public family appearance—not evidence that she has a public career, sports role or media profile of her own.
Saquon Jr. — also known as S.J. or SJ
Barkley and Congdon welcomed their son, Saquon Jr., in September 2022. Family and sports coverage commonly refers to him as S.J. or SJ.
After his son’s birth, Barkley described him as a beautiful baby with an amazing smile and said that Jada was becoming an excellent big sister. Those remarks offer a warm glimpse of the family’s reaction to his arrival, but public reporting does not establish a precise birth date or additional details such as his interests, schooling or hobbies.
Saquon Jr. has appeared with his family at Eagles games and celebrations, although he has generally received less public exposure than Jada. Limited coverage should not be interpreted as evidence of a particular personality, preference or relationship with the spotlight.

The children’s reported game-day handshakes
Sports coverage has highlighted personalized pregame greetings between Barkley and both children. The routine reported with Jada includes hand slaps, a kiss on the cheek and peace signs. Barkley’s greeting with Saquon Jr. has been compared to the sea-turtle greeting from Finding Nemo.
These handshakes are a memorable human-interest detail from public appearances, but the available reporting does not establish them as a formally documented family tradition beyond the occasions shown or described by sports outlets.
Who is the children’s mother?
The children’s mother is Anna Congdon, Barkley’s longtime partner and fiancée. Reputable sports and entertainment coverage identifies Congdon and Barkley as the parents of Jada and Saquon Jr.
The public record supports keeping the family context at that level. It does not justify expanding into claims about the couple’s private arrangements, residence, routines or relationship beyond what they have publicly shared.

How old are Saquon Barkley’s children?
As of August 12, 2026, Jada is 8 years old. Saquon Jr. is 3 years old. Since public reporting gives only September 2022—not a specific day—for Saquon Jr.’s birth, it is more accurate not to state an exact age in months or an exact birthday for him.
Fan gear for young Eagles supporters
Editorial note: The following is for readers and fans, not a claim that Jada or Saquon Jr. endorse any product.
Readers looking to celebrate Barkley’s Philadelphia Eagles career can compare a Saquon Barkley jersey, an official Eagles jersey or other Eagles kids gear. The official NFL Shop has listed Barkley Eagles jerseys, shirts, collectibles and related merchandise, while marketplace listings can vary by seller, licensing status, size range, price and availability. Check those details at the time of purchase, particularly for youth apparel.
