Samsung TV Plus expanded its U.S. lineup to more than 330 channels for the 2023 holiday season. That did not mean Samsung launched 330 new channels at once: the figure described the service’s approximate total lineup after a range of new channels, seasonal programming and other updates.
What changed in the 2023 update?
Samsung announced a TV Plus update on November 16, 2023, and promoted holiday programming in the weeks that followed. Its announcement said the U.S. service had passed 300 channels; contemporary reporting put the expanded total above 330. The rollout included new or newly available factual and reality programming, movie destinations, local-news feeds and seasonal viewing options. Samsung’s announcement and contemporary coverage make the important distinction clear: more than 330 was the total U.S. lineup, not the number of channels added in a single update.
Notable reality and documentary channels
Among the channels reported as additions or newly available were American Pickers, Hoarders, Intervention, Alone, Forged in Fire, Swamp People, Mountain Men, Storage Wars: LA, 60 Days In, I Survived, Flipping Nation, Bring It!, Little Women: LA, History 365, Hagerty and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. They broadened the service’s factual, reality and lifestyle mix, but the list is a snapshot of reported 2023 availability—not a guarantee that each channel remains in the guide today. Holiday movies, music and ambiance
For seasonal viewing, Samsung TV Plus promoted Hallmark Movies & More, Holiday Movie Favorites by Lifetime and Movie Hub Holidays. Other holiday offerings included programming blocks such as A Very Merry Murphy, Murray & McCarthy Marathon, Get Some Holiday Cheer and A Comedic Christmas, along with seasonal music-video playlists and Fireplace 4K. Samsung also highlighted holiday films including Christmas Angel and Feliz NaviDAD. These were holiday-season offerings, so viewers should not assume they remain available year-round. More than a channel count
The November update also expanded how viewers could browse and what they could find. Samsung introduced a Kids destination with more than 20 family-oriented channels and on-demand offerings, and a Music destination with over 40 music channels and more than 200 playlists from partners including Vevo, XITE and Stingray. Movie Hub added West, Action and Holidays destinations. Samsung also described a broader mix of national, business and local news, including additional local Fox News feeds, and ten first-to-FAST Spanish-language channels from ViX.
The company’s Product Update 5.2 included home-screen and content-discovery changes. Samsung said the rollout initially targeted 2019–2023 Samsung Smart TV models, with other models and Galaxy devices to follow into late 2023 and early 2024. That was a historical rollout plan, not a current compatibility guarantee; support depends on device, software and region.

How to watch Samsung TV Plus
Samsung TV Plus is a free, ad-supported service with live channels and on-demand programming. “Free” means no subscription payment for the service; you still need an internet connection and a supported device, and programming includes ads.

- Select a listing to start watching. Channel numbers and availability can vary and may change.
Samsung lists availability across supported Smart TVs, Galaxy devices, Smart Monitors, Family Hub refrigerators and the web. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every model or in every country. Then and now: the lineup changes
The more-than-330 figure belongs to the U.S. service in late 2023. Samsung later reported nearly 700 U.S. channels in an April 2025 announcement, while its service materials describe more than 3,500 channels globally across 30 countries. Those are dated company-reported milestones, not interchangeable counts: the global total is not the U.S. total, and neither should be read as a verified current U.S. count. The lineup is dynamic and varies by country, device and date. For what you can watch now, check Samsung’s current U.S. channel information rather than relying on a 2023 list.
The update mattered because it added recognizable documentary and reality brands alongside seasonal movies, music, kids’ programming and news—all without a monthly TV Plus subscription. The trade-off is advertising, changing channel availability and a large guide that may take browsing to navigate. Samsung TV Plus is an option already available on supported devices and online; buying a Samsung product solely to access the service is not necessary if you already have a supported way to watch.
