The art-focused partnership includes RM’s commentary on selected works in the Samsung Art Store, promotional and editorial appearances, and a special Art Basel session in Basel, Switzerland.
The announcement concerns RM as an individual ambassador. It is not a new announcement that all seven BTS members represent Samsung Art TVs or Samsung’s entire product range.
What Samsung actually announced
Samsung’s June 17, 2025 announcement described RM as the official global ambassador for Samsung Art TVs. Samsung presented him as a link between contemporary art, technology and popular culture, emphasizing his public interest in museums, collecting and visual storytelling.
Samsung’s wording about RM as an art enthusiast or connoisseur is promotional. A more precise description is that RM is widely known for his interest in museums and contemporary art, and Samsung is using that established public image in an art-display campaign.

What RM’s role includes
- Sharing personal commentary or insights on selected artworks offered through Samsung Art Store.
- Contributing to selected art content or curation associated with the service.
- Appearing in Samsung promotional and editorial material.
- Taking part in Art Basel-related programming about contemporary art, collecting and visual storytelling.
The announcement does not say that RM selected every work in the catalog, designed Samsung’s displays or advises the company’s entire television business. It also does not state a contract term or promise permanent RM-related content.
What counts as a Samsung Art TV?

Samsung’s U.S. announcement lists the relevant product expansion in more detail at Samsung Newsroom U.S.. A television’s Samsung brand or QLED label alone does not guarantee full Art Store support.
How Samsung Art Store works
Samsung Art Store is a subscription service that supplies licensed digital artwork to compatible televisions. In June 2025, Samsung described a catalog of more than 3,500 works in 4K quality from more than 70 partners, with availability cited in 117 countries in its U.K. release. Later Samsung material referred to more than 4,000 works, so the catalog total is time-sensitive rather than a permanent specification.

Buying a compatible TV does not automatically provide unlimited Art Store access forever. Trials or bundled access can vary by model, country, retailer and promotion. Check the exact product page and service terms before purchasing; the cited announcements do not establish a universal current U.S. price or trial period. Samsung’s service page is Samsung Art Store.
RM at Art Basel
Samsung said RM would participate in Art Basel in Basel 2025. It later reported a “Talk With RM” session covering art, collecting, accessibility and the experience of living with art in everyday spaces. The related programming included Art Basel Paris director Clément Delépine, artist Basim Magdy and Samsung Art Store Europe curator Sofia Monteiro. Details are in Samsung’s Living With Art report.

How this differs from Samsung’s earlier BTS partnership
Samsung already had a major relationship with BTS. In February 2020, the company announced a partnership connecting the group with smartphone marketing and the CONNECT, BTS contemporary-art initiative, as reported by Yonhap.
The 2025 appointment has a narrower scope: RM individually, Samsung Art TVs and the Art Store. It should not be treated as a new full-group BTS endorsement or as a return to a Galaxy-wide campaign.
What happened after the announcement?
The collaboration continued beyond the initial appointment. Samsung later released a short film with RM featuring The Frame Pro and Neo QLED 8K, promoting the idea of experiencing art at home. What buyers should check before choosing one
- Exact eligibility: Confirm that the specific model and software version support the Art Store in your country.
- Display performance: Compare resolution, contrast, brightness, viewing angle, screen finish, HDR, refresh rate, gaming features and movie performance—not just the ambassador campaign.
- Room and installation: The Frame and The Frame Pro target picture-like wall installations; check mount compatibility, cable routing, One Connect requirements and installation costs.
- Subscription terms: Determine whether you want a recurring art catalog subscription or will use personal photos and other free display options.
- Regional rights: Artwork, partners, trials and availability can differ by territory, model year and offer.
- Expectations about RM: The partnership may produce commentary, curated selections, event coverage and advertising. It does not guarantee BTS music videos or exclusive permanent RM programming.
For buyers who mainly want a picture-like display, see Samsung The Frame and Samsung The Frame Pro. Those prioritizing a conventional television can review Samsung’s broader TV range; Art Store support still needs to be checked model by model.
