Sakamoto Days Season 2 is confirmed for a global Netflix release in January 2027. Netflix’s August 21, 2026 first-look character trailer introduces Etsuko Satoda, Amane Yotsumura and Satoru Yatsumura, and previews two story threads: Sakamoto and Shin infiltrating JCC, and ORDER members on an assignment in Kyoto.
When does Sakamoto Days Season 2 come out?
Netflix currently lists Season 2 for January 2027. The official Japanese anime site also displays “2027.01 ON AIR.” Neither source gives an exact premiere day or release time, so those details have not been announced. Netflix describes the release as global, but that does not establish identical availability or timing in every territory. Netflix Tudum’s August 21, 2026 update and the official anime site provide the current window.
What does the first-look trailer reveal?
Netflix calls its August 2026 video a character trailer. It highlights three characters: Etsuko Satoda, Sakamoto’s former teacher; Amane Yotsumura, a student described as conflicted; and Satoru Yatsumura, whose connection to Amane is identified as that of his elusive father. The official Japanese anime site also links a Season 2 character promotional video. The trailer and accompanying synopsis establish these introductions, but do not confirm further character or casting details. Netflix Tudum · Official anime site
What is Season 2 about?
Sakamoto and Shin infiltrate JCC
Sakamoto and Shin go undercover at JCC, Japan’s assassin-training institution, to look for information about X, also known as Slur. The official synopsis does not specify more about their investigation, so the premise should not be read as confirmation of particular confrontations or outcomes.

Is Sakamoto Days Season 2 officially confirmed?
Yes. Netflix announced Season 2 at Jump Festa 2026 on December 22, 2025, with a teaser trailer and key art, confirming a global Netflix release. The later January 2027 update is the currently stated release window. Netflix also reported that Season 1 had appeared on its Global Top 10 (Non-English Series) list for 10 consecutive weeks in 2025. That is a Netflix-reported performance figure, not a measure of Season 2’s expected audience. About Netflix’s Jump Festa announcement
What has not been announced?
The official updates establish the release month, a first-look character trailer and broad story setup. They do not state an exact premiere date or time, an episode count, or full cast and staff details. Netflix’s global-release description does not resolve territory-by-territory scheduling.

Where can you watch Season 1 or read the manga?
Watch the anime
Netflix says Season 1 Parts 1 and 2 are available on its service. Catalog availability can differ by territory and change over time. The series follows Taro Sakamoto, a former hit man who left that life after falling in love with Aoi, married her and built a family and modest store before his past caught up with him. Netflix Tudum
Start with the source manga
The anime adapts Yuto Suzuki’s manga, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2020. Readers who want the original version can start with the manga, including volume 1; the official Season 2 announcements do not establish which chapters or arcs the new season will cover. Netflix reported in August 2026 that the manga had surpassed 15 million copies in worldwide circulation; that figure is attributed to Netflix, rather than presented here as a separately verified publisher announcement.
