Rotten Legacy is Netflix’s international title for Legado, a Spanish drama about a media magnate who returns to his business after a grave illness and clashes with his children over its future. Netflix lists the series as an eight-episode release from 2025, with Spanish (Spain) as its original audio.
What is Rotten Legacy about?
Federico Seligman has built a communications empire, but a grave illness takes him away from his companies. When he returns, he finds his children guiding the business in a direction he opposes. The central conflict is about succession and control: whether the family enterprise will continue according to Federico’s vision or change under the next generation.
Netflix describes the setup as a media mogul discovering that his children’s tactics threaten the empire he built. The drama also brings in political ambition, romantic complications and hidden pieces of the family’s past. Netflix’s episode summaries, for example, mention Guadalupe seeking a higher political position, Yolanda caught in a love triangle, and Lara uncovering parts of León’s past.

At a spoiler-light level, the season follows Federico’s struggle with his children over the company, alongside political and romantic storylines and discoveries about the past. Netflix’s finale synopsis points to a newspaper offer and the truth about an earlier crime putting Federico’s legacy in doubt, so readers who want to avoid later-season revelations may prefer to stop at the episode descriptions for the earlier installments.
