Roku expanded The Roku Channel’s free, ad-supported Live TV lineup with nine channels in February 2026. The additions include four comedy and sitcom feeds—America’s Funniest Videos, The Bernie Mac Show, Cougar Town and Blossom—alongside sports, children’s, drama and outdoor channels.
These are scheduled linear channels, not nine new apps or guaranteed on-demand libraries. The February channel numbers are useful reference points, but FAST lineups can move or change; searching by channel name is safer in August 2026.

Roku’s wider service now advertises more than 500 free live channels, spanning news, sports, food, reality, children’s shows, dramas and comedy. Why comedy viewers get the most useful upgrade

This is the easiest channel to drop into: short clips, home-video mishaps and bloopers work as casual background viewing without requiring knowledge of an ongoing story.
The Bernie Mac Show
Bernie Mac’s sitcom is the strongest choice here for viewers who enjoy early-2000s comedy and a performer-led style shaped by stand-up.

Cougar Town
Cougar Town suits viewers who prefer an ensemble sitcom and recurring relationship arcs. Because it is a live feed, you watch the episode that is scheduled rather than selecting any installment at will.
Blossom
Blossom is the most explicitly 1990s nostalgia-oriented addition and may appeal to households looking for a lighter, younger-skewing sitcom feed.

How to watch the channels
On a Roku device or Roku TV
- Open The Roku Channel.
- Select Live TV from the left-side menu or the channel’s home screen.
- Search for a channel by name, or open the guide and navigate to its reported number.
- Select the channel to start the scheduled stream.
While watching live TV, press Left on the Roku remote’s directional pad to open the guide. Highlight a channel name or logo and press the Star button for channel-management options. (Roku guide and favorites instructions)
Roku hardware is not required
Roku says The Roku Channel is available on Roku streaming players and TVs, the web, mobile devices, compatible Samsung smart TVs and compatible Amazon Fire TV devices in the United States. Country availability differs; Roku lists the service on Roku devices, web and mobile in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and on Roku streaming devices in Mexico. What “free” means here
- No live-TV subscription: You do not need Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, Sling or another paid package to watch these feeds.
- Advertising funds the service: Commercial breaks are part of the free experience.
- Linear scheduling: The channel plays its current schedule. A branded channel does not automatically provide every season or episode on demand, and normal live-channel controls may not offer on-demand-style seeking.
- Roku’s interface also contains paid content: Premium subscriptions and third-party services can appear alongside free programming, so “free on Roku” does not describe everything in the interface.
If a channel is missing
Check the guide and filters
- Search using the full channel name rather than relying on the number.
- Open the Live TV guide and change its filter to All channels instead of Recents or Favorites.
- Open Manage channels → Manage channel lineup and check whether the channel has been hidden.
- Restart or update the Roku device or app if the guide still appears stale.
Roku documents the filter and hidden-channel controls in its guide-management instructions. (Roku support) A channel may also be unavailable in your country, absent from a particular compatible device, or moved since the February reports. Channel numbers are not permanent identifiers.
If The Roku Channel is not installed
On a Roku device, press Home, choose Streaming Store, select Apps, find The Roku Channel, press OK, and choose Add app. (Roku installation instructions)

Is the February expansion worth checking?
It is a worthwhile check for sitcom fans, nostalgia viewers, families, cricket followers and outdoor-sports audiences who accept advertising and scheduled programming. The practical benefit is variety without another monthly bill: four comedy feeds sit alongside several specialist channels. Viewers who require ad-free playback, DVR controls or guaranteed on-demand access to a complete series will find the linear format restrictive.
