Shortly afterward, on Saturday, July 9, 2022, Marciano posted an Instagram Story showing him relaxing at the beach with a kite visible in the scene. The accompanying caption read, In times of crisis, go fly a kite.
The line supplied the “wisdom” angle in contemporaneous coverage, but it is best understood as a personal coping message connected to the image rather than a detailed account of his legal or family situation.
When Eryn Marciano filed for divorce
Eryn Marciano reportedly filed divorce paperwork on June 18, 2021, in the Supreme Court of Westchester County, New York. The filing was therefore made more than a year before news organizations reported it in July 2022. The distinction matters: Eryn did not newly file in July 2022; July was when the earlier filing became public.
Contemporaneous reporting attributed the filing information to court records and described unresolved settlement and custody issues. A reported order for a trial was filed on May 10, 2022. A marriage and family kept largely out of the spotlight
Rob and Eryn Marciano married in November 2010. They share two children, daughter Madelynn and son Mason. Reports from 2022 described the children as approximately 10 and 4 at that time; those were historical ages and should not be treated as their current ages.
Even after the reported filing, the family continued to appear publicly cooperative. Eryn acknowledged Marciano on Father’s Day in June 2021, and in April 2022 the former couple took their children to Disney World. Marciano described the trip as needed quality time with the children.
Those public details suggest an effort to maintain family continuity and a cooperative public relationship, but they do not reveal the private parenting arrangement. What happened to the divorce case?
Later reporting by Us Weekly said that the divorce was finalized in January 2023. The same report indicated that the court documents were sealed. Because the final judgment was not publicly reviewed in this research pass, the finalization date should be attributed to that later secondary reporting rather than presented as an independently examined judgment.

Accordingly, coverage of Marciano’s July 2022 comments should use “wife,” “then-wife,” or “estranged wife” when describing the situation at that time. “Ex-wife” is appropriate for reporting after the January 2023 finalization reported by Us Weekly.

Marciano was widely known in 2022 as an ABC News meteorologist associated with Good Morning America. ABC’s biography says he joined ABC News in September 2014 and served as senior meteorologist for World News Tonight and the weekend edition of Good Morning America. Before joining ABC, he worked at CNN and Entertainment Tonight.

His later career developments are separate from the divorce story. Reports said ABC News ended his employment in April 2024 after complaints about workplace behavior, although the network did not publicly provide a detailed explanation in the sources reviewed for this article.
