Gizelle Bryant said her daughters were “horrified” by the wedding outfits worn by their father, Jamal Bryant, and his new wife, Dr. Karri Turner. The comment came during part two of the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion, after viewers compared the couple’s green-and-pink looks to characters from Wicked.
What did Gizelle Bryant say about her daughters’ reaction?
When Andy Cohen asked what her daughters thought of the outfits, Gizelle answered, “They were horrified.” The remark was Gizelle’s account during the reunion, as reported by Bravo’s The Daily Dish; the report did not quote the daughters directly.
Gizelle also reacted to the couple’s clothes, saying, “Um, I don’t know what would possess them to wear that as they got married,” and, “It seemed like a joke, but they weren’t playing.”
What did Jamal Bryant and Karri Turner wear?
Bravo described Jamal’s outfit as a dark green, bejeweled suit. Turner wore light pink frills and diamonds. The contrast in color and embellishment prompted the Wicked comparison: green recalled Elphaba, while sparkly pink recalled Glinda.

That was a comparison made by viewers and discussed at the reunion, not the couple’s stated wedding theme. Bravo’s account says the wedding was not Wicked-themed.
Did Gizelle’s daughters attend the wedding?
Yes. Bravo identifies Grace, Angel, and Adore as Gizelle and Jamal’s three daughters and reports that they attended the wedding; Gizelle did not. At the reunion, Gizelle said the daughters did not know their new stepmother and added, “They still don’t know her. It would be great if there was a relationship, but there just hasn’t been one with my kids.” That describes Gizelle’s view as expressed on the show, rather than independently verified accounts of her daughters’ feelings.

What is the family context?
Gizelle and Jamal married in 2002, separated in 2009, tried the relationship again in 2019, and split for good in 2021, according to Bravo’s report. The reunion discussion focused on the daughters’ response to their father’s wedding and their relationship with Turner.
