What Kelly Dodd said about the breakup
In an October 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kelly described the relationship as “not working” and said there had been “disagreements all the time.” Bravo’s account of the interview also quoted her saying the marriage shifted between very good and very bad periods. Kelly also described Michael as family and said they were good friends, while explaining that they could not live together. What is—and is not—known about the divorce
The available public accounts support Kelly’s explanation of repeated conflict and the basic chronology. They do not substantiate claims about a particular “final straw,” who privately initiated negotiations, or the terms of any settlement, custody arrangement, support, or property division. Bravo reported Kelly’s announcement that the divorce was final on February 23, 2018. E! separately reported that the judgment was entered that day and processed on March 7; because the judgment itself was not reviewed for this account, those procedural details remain attributed to E!’s report rather than presented as independently verified court records. The separation and divorce were covered in connection with The Real Housewives of Orange County, but the public statements reported by Bravo and ET are the clearest basis for explaining Kelly’s stated reasons. The show context does not turn those statements into an independent finding about what happened inside the marriage.
