Red Hulk is Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel’s comics. In Captain America: Brave New World, Harrison Ford plays President Thaddeus Ross, who appears as Red Hulk. The film puts him in a showdown with Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, but its official synopsis does not explain exactly how Ross transforms.
Who is Red Hulk?
In Marvel Comics, Red Hulk is General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a military figure who becomes the kind of Hulk he had opposed. Marvel’s official character-profile excerpt says the group Intelligencia gives Ross his powers and seeks to use him for its own aims. Marvel’s reading-guide excerpt likewise describes Ross becoming what he hated. Those broad details establish the comic-book identity and context; they do not, by themselves, settle how the film adapts his origin.
