Rebel Wilson said she had tried Ozempic as one way to help maintain her size, but told The Sunday Times she was no longer taking it at the time of the interview. Her account, reported by ABC News on March 31, 2024, describes her personal experience—not proof that Ozempic caused her broader weight loss or advice for others.
What Rebel Wilson said about Ozempic
ABC News reported that Wilson discussed the drug in an interview with The Sunday Times. As quoted by ABC News, she said: “Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good.” Wilson was describing why she had tried it as one method to help maintain her size; the report said she was no longer using it when she spoke to the newspaper.
ABC News also quoted Wilson saying, “Basically no one apart from my mom wanted me to lose weight.” The remarks belong to her personal account and do not establish how the medication affected her weight or health.
How Ozempic fits into her wider weight-loss story
The ABC News report placed Wilson’s comments about Ozempic alongside her account of a wider weight-loss journey. It said advice from a fertility doctor about improving her chances of IVF success was part of her personal context for deciding to lose weight. That is a report about Wilson’s circumstances, not a general clinical promise that weight loss will improve IVF outcomes.

The report does not say that Wilson used Ozempic throughout her weight loss or that the drug alone caused her change in size. It describes a trial of the medication as one method of maintaining her size, and says she had stopped taking it by the time of the interview.
What the report says about Ozempic and Wegovy
ABC News describes Ozempic as a semaglutide medicine approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for type 2 diabetes, and distinguishes it from Wegovy, a semaglutide brand with a separate obesity indication for qualifying patients. These are different branded products and indications; Wilson’s interview is not prescribing guidance. For personal decisions about medication, consult a qualified clinician and current official prescribing information.
