Why Netflix removed the series

Before ordering, verify the seller, disc format, region compatibility, included seasons, and whether the listing is new or used. Marketplace listings can vary, and a box set intended for one region may not play on every disc player. Physical ownership is more durable than a subscription catalog, but it is not automatically risk-free: discs can be damaged, and some editions may have different packaging or bonus features.

The franchise is still active—but the Hulu project is not season six

Elgin James is writer, showrunner, executive producer, and pilot director, with 20th Television serving as the studio.
That makes “reboot,” “new chapter,” or “spinoff” more accurate descriptions than “season six.” The project uses the Prison Break universe, but the available information does not present it as a conventional continuation centered on Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.

Hulu’s own April 2026 press release confirmed the series order and said the new chapter was preparing to launch. It did not provide a confirmed premiere date.
