Priscilla Presley’s life spans a childhood shaped by military-family moves, a teenage meeting with Elvis Presley in West Germany, marriage and motherhood, and a later role in managing the Presley Estate. This timeline follows her story through those turning points, with dates grounded in Graceland’s official history and Priscilla Presley’s biography.
Childhood in a military family
Priscilla’s father was a U.S. Air Force officer, and the family moved frequently. She attended high school in Wiesbaden, West Germany, where she would meet Elvis Presley. Her early years were marked not by life at Graceland but by the routines and relocations of a military household. Priscilla Presley’s official biography describes this background.
Meeting Elvis in West Germany
September 13, 1959
Priscilla met Elvis in Wiesbaden on September 13, 1959, while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. The date comes from Graceland’s official timeline; her official biography also places their meeting in Wiesbaden. A photograph illustrating this chapter should be identified with a date or location only when the photograph’s own provenance confirms it.
Marriage and motherhood
May 1, 1967: marriage in Las Vegas
Priscilla and Elvis married in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967, at a small ceremony attended by friends and family, according to Graceland’s timeline.

February 1, 1968: Lisa Marie is born
Their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was born on February 1, 1968, nine months after the wedding. Marriage and motherhood became defining parts of Priscilla’s public story, but they were not the whole of her life.
Life after the divorce
1973: the marriage ends
Priscilla and Elvis divorced in 1973. Her official biography says they remained close until his death. The available sources establish those milestones but do not establish a reason for the divorce, so it should not be reduced to an unsupported explanation.

Taking on a role in the Presley Estate
1979: co-executor
After Vernon Presley died, Priscilla became co-executor of the Presley Estate in 1979, according to her official Graceland biography. The estate’s work extended beyond the home: Priscilla’s official site describes its scope as including Graceland, licensing, merchandising, music publishing, and television and video projects. That role places her story in a different frame from the earlier chapters: she was helping oversee the public legacy attached to Elvis’s name. Priscilla Presley’s official site outlines that estate context.

For readers who want Priscilla’s own account rather than another image caption, her memoir Elvis and Me is a relevant next step. The Associated Press reported in November 2023 that Sofia Coppola’s film Priscilla was based on Presley’s 1985 memoir. It is a memoir, not established here as a photo book. The Associated Press report describes the connection.
