Princess Eugenie said she wished she and Princess Beatrice could have celebrated with their family at Kate, Princess of Wales’s Together at Christmas carol service on December 5, 2025. PEOPLE reported that the sisters missed the Westminster Abbey event because of other commitments; Eugenie’s Instagram Story expressed regret and praised the service, but did not explain the scheduling conflict.
What Eugenie said about missing the service
After the event, Eugenie shared an Instagram Story over an image of the service program. As transcribed by PEOPLE and Marie Claire, she wrote: “Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family.”

She added: “Wishing @princeandprincessofwales such a special evening at her incredible carol service. What an amazing message of love and hope.” The message conveyed regret at missing the gathering and support for the evening; it did not give a reason for the sisters’ absence.
Why Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were absent
PEOPLE reported that Beatrice and Eugenie had been invited in early autumn but could not attend because of other commitments. That is the reported explanation, not a reason Eugenie stated in her Instagram Story. The available reporting does not establish a deeper motive for their absence.

About Kate’s 2025 Together at Christmas service
The service took place at Westminster Abbey on December 5, 2025, and was the fifth annual Together at Christmas carol service. PEOPLE reported that 1,600 guests attended, with the event recognizing people from across the UK for kindness, empathy, and support in their communities. The previous year’s service was also described by ITV as dedicated to people demonstrating love, kindness, and empathy; that background does not explain why the sisters missed the 2025 event.
