Prince Harry told People that having Meghan Markle beside him at the 2025 Invictus Games was “amazing,” calling her support “such an important piece to this whole adventure.” He made the remarks in Vancouver on February 9, while Meghan was attending the Games.
What Prince Harry said about Meghan
In a People interview in Vancouver, Harry said: “To have my wife here supporting me is amazing. I love that she’s by my side. It’s such an important piece to this whole adventure.” The comment was about Meghan’s support and sharing the event with him; it does not, on its own, establish a broader statement about their relationship.

Why Meghan left before the Games ended
Meghan attended the early days of the event and returned home early under a pre-planned arrangement to be with the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They were reported as five and three at the time of the 2025 Games. The account describes her departure as planned, not as a last-minute change.

The Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler
The 2025 Invictus Games ran from February 8 to 16 in Vancouver and Whistler. The report identifies this as the seventh cycle and the first Winter Games. The tournament brings together wounded, injured and sick veterans and service personnel for adaptive sports.
Harry launched the Invictus Games in 2014. He described Canada as an appropriate host for the first Winter edition, saying: “It’s incredible to be back in Canada. Canada couldn’t be more appropriate to host the first Winter Games. Everyone is so excited.”
The event also connected to the couple’s public history: Toronto hosted the Games in 2017, where Harry and Meghan made their first official public appearance together at wheelchair tennis.
