At its first Canadian Upfront on May 29, 2025, Prime Video announced seven Canadian original projects or returning titles, spanning NHL access, true crime, music documentary, French-language comedy and an Alberta-set unscripted series. The slate was not seven brand-new commissions: it included returning seasons, a documentary receiving a new title and projects already in development. Since the event, Amazon has listed Vitrerie Joyal under its later title, The Glass House, and Young Farts Trailer Parts as available from July 17, 2026.
The seven titles at a glance
| Title announced | What it is | Status or timing announced in 2025 | Later update |
|---|---|---|---|
| FACEOFF: Inside the NHL, Season 2 | Behind-the-scenes hockey documentary | Returning series; planned for fall 2025 | The Upfront announcement did not provide a precise date. |
| ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter? | Two-part Toronto true-crime documentary | Prime Video release set for June 13, 2025 | Its Toronto festival screening was scheduled for June 12, ahead of streaming. |
| Simple Plan: The Kids in the Crowd | Documentary about the Montreal band | Newly titled film; planned for summer 2025 | Amazon described it as a global Prime Video release. |
| Karaoké Club | French-language celebrity karaoke competition | New series; planned for later in 2025 | Adapted from an existing international format. |
| LOL: Qui Rira Le Dernier?, Season 4 | French-language laugh-suppression competition | Returning series; planned for early 2026 | The announcement named ten contestants. |
| Vitrerie Joyal | Scripted comedy-drama set around a glass business | First look and production update; planned for 2026 | Amazon later listed the series as The Glass House among its May 2026 releases. |
| Trailer Trash | Unscripted comedy docuseries about Alberta business owners | Newly greenlit under a working title; planned for 2026 | Amazon later presented it as Young Farts Trailer Parts, available from July 17, 2026. |
The original release placed the slate’s launches between June 2025 and 2026. Those were announcement-era windows, not firm dates for every title. The May 29 announcement is the primary source for the initial lineup and project details; Amazon’s later May 2026 release list and its entertainment hub provide the cited title and availability updates.

The documentaries and true-crime projects
FACEOFF: Inside the NHL returns for Season 2
The second season of FACEOFF: Inside the NHL was a returning documentary series, not a new show. Produced by Box to Box and NHL Productions, it was scheduled for fall 2025. The announced roster included new participants Quinton Byfield, Sidney Crosby, Thomas Harley, Wyatt Johnston, Anze Kopitar, Marc-André Fleury, Mikko Rantanen and Brendan Shanahan. Matthew Tkachuk and William Nylander were also returning, alongside previously announced players Seth Jarvis, Sean Monahan, Zach Werenski and Brady Tkachuk.
The season was set to follow players’ lives and training as well as regular-season action, the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Alex Ovechkin’s pursuit of the NHL’s all-time goals record. The announcement said these players would be included; it did not specify that each would lead a full season or appear for the same amount of screen time.

ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter?
This two-part documentary follows Toronto resident Heather Rovet’s account of a relationship with a handyman she knew as “Jace,” later identified as Jason Porter. Directed by Henry Roosevelt and produced by Blink49 Studios for Amazon MGM Studios, it was set for a Prime Video release on June 13, 2025. It also had a scheduled NXNE screening in Toronto on June 12, followed by a Montreal screening on June 15.
The story moves from romantic deception toward an investigation involving other alleged victims. That is the documentary’s stated editorial premise; allegations in a true-crime account should not be mistaken for findings established here. A festival screening is also distinct from the announced streaming release.
Simple Plan: The Kids in the Crowd
The music documentary traces Simple Plan’s formation in Montreal in the late 1990s, rise to international popularity and continuing career. Directed by Didier Charrette and produced by Sphere Media, it was announced for a summer 2025 launch on Prime Video, with Amazon describing it as a global release. The film was to draw on archival material and new interviews.

In addition to the band members, the announced interview participants included Mark Hoppus, Avril Lavigne, Dexter Holland, Noodles and Fat Mike. At the Upfront, the key news was the film’s title and release window—not the creation of an entirely new project.
French-language competition and comedy
Karaoké Club
Hosted by Stéphane Rousseau, this French-language celebrity competition puts guests through karaoke challenges. The announced contestants were Karine Vanasse, Arnaud Soly, Lou-Pascal Tremblay, Debbie Lynch-White, Pierre-Yves Lord and Chloée Deblois. Contestants can be eliminated while new celebrities enter during the night.
Attraction is producing the series for Amazon MGM Studios. Karaoké Club was planned for later in 2025, and it should not be described as a wholly original format: the announcement says it adapts an existing NBCUniversal international format.

LOL: Qui Rira Le Dernier?, Season 4
The fourth season of LOL: Qui Rira Le Dernier? brings back the French-language comedy competition hosted by Patrick Huard. Its ten announced contestants were Guy Jodoin, Phil Roy, Patrice L’Écuyer, Mehdi Bousaidan, Ève Côté, Liliane Blanco-Binette, Claude Legault, Mégan Brouillard, Guylaine Tremblay and Anthony Kavanagh.

The announcement said 45 cameras would record the six-hour competition. Attraction is producing the season for Amazon MGM Studios, with an early 2026 release window announced. This, too, was a returning franchise rather than a new series.
Two projects whose titles or status changed
Vitrerie Joyal became The Glass House
Martin Matte stars as André Joyal in this scripted comedy-drama inspired by Matte’s father and his glass company. Set in a recreated mid-1990s business environment and filmed in Montreal, the project was introduced with a first look and a 2026 release window. Its announced cast also included Pierre-Luc Funk, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, Marilyse Bourke, Florence Longpré, Guillaume Cyr, François Chénier, Steve Laplante, Rémi-Pierre Paquin, Sam Breton and Marcel Leboeuf. Encore Télévision and Martin Matte are producing for Amazon MGM Studios.

It should not be treated as an unreleased project under its original title: Amazon later used The Glass House and included it among its May 2026 releases. The title change is useful when searching the catalogue, but the cited release listing does not by itself establish present-day availability in every territory.
Trailer Trash became Young Farts Trailer Parts
The newly greenlit unscripted comedy docuseries was announced under the working title Trailer Trash. It follows Alberta brothers Jagger and Dawson, owners of Young Farts RV Parts in Vegreville, as they reclaim and sell RV parts while managing their business, family life and intentionally unruly public personas. Jacob Tierney, known for Letterkenny and Shoresy, is an executive producer; Lionsgate Canada is the production partner.
Amazon later presented the project as Young Farts Trailer Parts and listed it as available globally on Prime Video from July 17, 2026. Use that later title when looking for it; Trailer Trash was the working title in the 2025 announcement, not the final title cited in the later update.

What the slate says about Canadian Prime Video programming
The seven projects connect a range of Canadian settings and cultural subjects: NHL careers, Montreal punk-rock history, a Toronto true-crime account, Quebec talent and French-language entertainment, and a rural Alberta business. Two of the titles—Karaoké Club and LOL—are French-language productions, while the slate also includes English-language documentaries and scripted and unscripted series.
Amazon said in its 2025 announcement that Amazon MGM Studios, MGM Television and MGM+ Studios had commissioned more than 60 series and films shot in Canada since 2015. That figure is Amazon’s own stated tally, not an independently audited measure. The slate’s more useful distinction is how it mixes new commissions with returning seasons, a newly titled documentary and a first look at a project already in production.
How to watch and what to check
These were announced as Prime Video projects for Canadian viewers, but launch wording differs: ROMCON had an exact announced streaming date, while most projects had only a season or year window. Amazon described some releases as global, but that should not be generalized to all seven. Catalogue rights and availability can vary by territory and time, so check the Canadian Prime Video listing for the individual title.
Recommended Free Tools
Prime Video includes originals alongside other offerings, and Amazon also operates a store for rentals and purchases and offers separately paid add-on channels. A Prime membership should not be assumed to include every channel or every store title. See Amazon’s Canadian entertainment overview for its description of these options; check the title’s current listing and entitlement before subscribing or renting. The May 2025 slate announcement itself did not establish a current membership price.
