For August 2026, Pluto TV’s announced lineup features seven channels: Alien Nation by Dust, Cheaters, FOX SOUL, FOX Weather, LiveNOW from FOX, Makers and a limited-time stream of all 13 theatrical Star Trek films. The announcement is about channels, not a verified August movie-additions list or a slate of first-run series premieres. Paramount’s official announcement describes the channels but does not specify launch dates, channel numbers, a full country rollout or end dates for the offerings other than the limited-time Star Trek stream. What Pluto TV announced for August 2026
The official announcement names seven channels or featured streams. Six are presented as channel launches; the Star Trek option is explicitly described as limited time. It is not a dated schedule of newly added movies, and it does not establish that every channel is a permanent addition.

That distinction matters: “channel launch” means a stream is available in the live guide, while a movie addition means a title joins the on-demand library or a scheduled collection. A first-run premiere is different again. Paramount’s August page does not provide a separate, title-by-title August 2026 movie slate.

Descriptions and availability labels in the table reflect Paramount’s announcement. It does not give channel numbers or individual rollout times.
Which channels suit which viewers?
- Documentary and paranormal fans: Alien Nation by Dust is the clearest fit for UFO, unexplained-phenomena and paranormal documentary programming.
- Sci-fi fans: Star Trek: The Motion Pictures offers the announced limited-time run of all 13 theatrical films.
- Home and making shows: Makers covers practical and creative subjects from home improvement and design to woodworking and engineering.
- News and weather viewers: LiveNOW from FOX centers on breaking news, live events and national stories; FOX Weather focuses on weather and severe-weather coverage.
- Talk and reality viewers: FOX SOUL is focused on Black culture and conversations, while Cheaters provides a continuous reality-TV feed.
Does “premieres” mean new movies or shows?
Not necessarily. In this announcement, the main verified changes are channels and a limited-time film stream. Paramount’s page does not identify a separate list of August 2026 movie additions, on-demand debuts or first-run series episodes, so it would be misleading to treat the channel list as a movie-premiere calendar.
- Channel launch: A new linear stream appears in the Pluto TV guide.
- Movie addition: A film becomes available in the service’s library or a programming collection. That does not by itself mean it is a first-run premiere.
- On-demand availability: The viewer selects a title to start it, subject to the title remaining in the catalog.
- Linear availability: The viewer joins whatever is playing in the channel’s schedule; the announcement does not promise control over the episode or film currently airing.
- Limited-time channel: A temporary stream may leave the guide after its promotional period. Paramount labels the Star Trek channel limited time but does not give its end date.
Pluto TV has used August for movie-library promotions in other years. For example, its 2023 Popcorn Summer Movies announcement described a seasonal slate with additions during June, July and August. That past promotion is not evidence of the 2026 movie schedule.

August announcements from earlier years are separate
Pluto TV’s August 2022 rollout included free, ad-supported linear channels for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. That is historical context, not part of the August 2026 announcement. At launch, the Jeopardy! channel was reported to carry 250 episodes spanning 33 past seasons, including tournament blocks and episodes dating to the show’s first season in 1984. The Wheel of Fortune channel was reported to carry 250 episodes hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, drawn from the preceding five years at the time. A separate 2022 lineup reorganization introduced categories including Game Shows, Daytime TV, Home, Food, and Lifestyle & Culture, according to TechCrunch’s coverage. Those older channel and guide details should not be read as a current guide map.

- Open Pluto TV’s website or its app on a device where the service is available.
- Go to the Live TV area or channel guide to browse linear streams.
- Look through the relevant genre or category, or search the channel name if search is available on your version of the app.
- Use title search for a specific on-demand film or show; a title may be available on demand without playing in the live channel at that moment.
- If a listed channel does not appear, check the guide again later and confirm your app and device are up to date. A rollout may not appear on every device at the same time, and temporary or regionally limited availability is possible.
