2008: They married
The couple married in 2008, according to Us Weekly. Elle also identifies Wentz as Simpson’s former husband and Bronx’s father. Elle’s relationship timeline provides additional context.
2011: Divorce
Simpson and Wentz filed for divorce in 2011, Us Weekly reports. CBS News reported that the divorce was finalized in November 2011. CBS News’ report on the finalized divorce documents that milestone.

2013: Meeting and first public appearance
Elle reports that Simpson and Ross met in 2013 and were seen together that July. It identifies their first official appearance as a Jessica Simpson campaign event in New York. Elle quotes Simpson recalling their first meeting: “We met at my friend’s birthday party,” she explained. “Evan walked in and he was really cute, and I was like, ‘Who’s this Mr. Cool Pants?’” The timeline does not give a more precise date for that conversation.
2014: Engagement and wedding
Elle reports that Simpson and Ross became engaged in January 2014 and married in August 2014. It also quotes Ross saying of their relationship: “We’re very different, but we understand each other, and we look out for each other.”

What the timeline does—and does not—establish
These sourced milestones provide a partial chronology, not a complete list of everyone Simpson has dated. Us Weekly names Ryan Cabrera as a former partner and notes that he and Ross were friendly, but the available account here does not establish a reliable start-to-end chronology for Cabrera. Specific dates for other reported partners are likewise unresolved, so rumor-list entries should not be treated as confirmed relationships.
Photographs can help place public appearances in context, but captions should distinguish an event date from a relationship milestone. The photo credits in Elle’s timeline are attribution, not evidence that an image is currently available for republication or licensed for reuse.
