Kim Kardashian posted photos and videos with a Tesla Optimus humanoid robot on November 20, 2024. The images showed her holding the robot’s hand and touching hands with it in a heart-shaped pose beside a gold-colored Cybercab prototype. The post drew attention for its unusual celebrity-and-robot pairing, but it did not establish that the robot was autonomous, that Tesla and SKIMS had a formal campaign, or that Kardashian was making a political statement.
What Kardashian’s post showed
The November 20 post showed Kardashian interacting with a humanoid robot identified in coverage as Tesla’s Optimus. In one image, she held the robot’s hand; in a short video, they pressed their hands together to make a heart-like shape. Other footage showed the robot posing inside or beside a gold-colored Tesla Cybercab prototype. Kardashian’s original X post is the primary record of the material; Futurism reported on it the following day.
These are descriptions of posed images, not evidence of affection or a spontaneous exchange. A photo or clip of a robot making a gesture also does not, by itself, show how independently the robot performed it.

The post combined a famous celebrity, a humanoid robot, and Tesla’s futuristic vehicle in an intimate-looking hand-holding pose. The heart gesture invited jokes and discomfort about human-robot intimacy, while the Cybercab setting added a technology-launch feel. Some commenters mocked or criticized the imagery; those reactions do not represent a measured view of the public as a whole.

Futurism’s November 21, 2024 report on the post characterized the images as apparently promotional for Kardashian’s shapewear brand, SKIMS. It is safer to describe the post as widely interpreted as promotional than to call it a confirmed SKIMS-Tesla campaign: the available reporting does not establish a formal partnership or campaign announcement.
What Optimus and Cybercab are—and what the post does not prove
Optimus is Tesla’s humanoid-robot project, previously referred to in Tesla materials as Tesla Bot. The Cybercab is a two-seat robotaxi prototype unveiled alongside Optimus at Tesla’s October 10, 2024 “We, Robot” event. The prototype shown then lacked conventional steering-wheel and pedal controls. It should be understood here as a prototype or concept vehicle, not an operational public robotaxi that Kardashian was shown riding.

Separate reporting about Tesla’s October event found that some public-facing Optimus demonstrations involved remote human operators. That context is relevant to interpreting demonstrations generally, but it does not establish how the particular robot in Kardashian’s post was operated. The images are not proof that this unit was autonomous, nor do they establish the full capabilities or commercial availability of Optimus.
Did the post signal political support?
Some commenters connected Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk to Donald Trump and speculated about Kardashian’s politics. The photos do not show how she voted or prove that she intended a political endorsement. The distinction is straightforward: Kardashian’s post is verifiable; promotional intent is an interpretation reported by coverage; claims about her political affiliation based on the robot photos are unsupported speculation.

Why the date matters
This is a November 2024 story, not a new 2026 development. Kardashian posted the material on November 20, 2024, and Futurism published its report on November 21. Keeping that timeline clear also prevents the posed appearance from being mistaken for a new Tesla product launch or robotaxi service announcement.
If reproducing the images, publishers should verify rights and preserve the original account attribution and posting date. A public social-media post does not automatically grant permission to republish its images, and embeds or screenshots may be unavailable, edited, or cropped.
