Peyton Roi List’s screen career runs from childhood modeling and early film roles to Disney Channel recognition, Cobra Kai, School Spirits and a 2026 stage role in Heathers: The Musical. “It girl” is an editorial description, not a documented industry title; the milestones below trace her work rather than claim a complete fashion transformation.
How to read this visual retrospective
The career milestones are well documented, but the sources available do not provide twenty individually dated, rights-cleared photographs spanning List’s entire career. Netflix Tudum’s 2022 feature includes a 20-image gallery focused on Cobra Kai, not a full chronology. Use the outline below as a guide to selecting images: verify each photograph’s date, original caption, context and publication rights before presenting it as part of a twenty-image sequence.
- Favor dated production stills, event photographs and editorial images from their original publishers.
- Identify the career period and source in each caption; distinguish a character image from a personal appearance.
- Do not treat a handful of photographs as proof of a complete or continuous change in personal style.
Peyton List as a child: modeling and early screen work
Apple TV’s career profile says List began as a child model, appearing in advertisements for American Girl dolls and Justice clothing. It also lists early acting credits in 27 Dresses and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. These are useful starting points for a career chronology, but a photograph should be dated and identified from its original source rather than assumed to come from a particular campaign or film.
Peyton List’s Disney years: Emma Ross
List became widely recognized through Disney Channel’s Jessie, playing Emma Ross. Apple TV dates her association with the series from 2011 to 2015 and also lists Bunk’d; Playbill identifies the two shows as the work through which she first gained popularity. Images from this period can document her Disney roles and the shows’ production context, but on-screen costume and styling are not, by themselves, evidence of a personal style shift.

From sitcoms to Cobra Kai
In Cobra Kai, List plays Tory Nichols. Netflix Tudum’s September 12, 2022 feature places her among the show’s young cast and provides a dated, show-focused photo gallery. It is a useful source for images of the Cobra Kai era, not a substitute for photographs from earlier or later points in her career.
In that feature, List reflected on watching younger castmates Dallas Dupree Young and Oona O’Brien: “It’s amazing to watch them. Not that I understand how Billy and Ralph feel at all, but there is a sense of wonderment that I have watching Dallas and Oona because they are so mature for their age.” The comment offers her perspective on the ensemble; it does not establish a broader personal transformation.
Rank #2
School Spirits and recent screen work
Apple TV lists List as the lead actor in School Spirits. A CBS interview listing dated January 28, 2026 confirms that she discussed the show’s third season. Together, these sources mark a later chapter in her television career beyond the Disney sitcoms and Cobra Kai.
In 2026, List takes the stage in Heathers
Playbill reported on April 9, 2026 that List was playing Heather Chandler in the Off-Broadway revival of Heathers: The Musical. She described her seven years in multi-camera sitcoms as “a huge comedic boot camp,” and explained what that work taught her: “Teaching the A side B side of a joke and that there’s a specific rhythm to comedy… It was a cool experience, and [you] learn similar things to theatre: cheating out, finding your light, all those things.” Her account connects her sitcom experience to the skills she brings to live performance.

List’s documented career has moved through child modeling, early film work, Disney sitcoms, later television leads and stage performance. That progression is the clearest transformation this retrospective can establish. “It girl” is the headline’s editorial framing: the cited career sources do not document it as a formal accolade or establish a comprehensive fashion timeline. A claim about a particular look or style turning point needs a dated, verified image and its original context.
