What Pete Davidson looked like at CinemaCon
Davidson appeared at CinemaCon on April 15, 2026, with arms that looked largely cleared of their former tattoos. E! described the appearance as a tattoo-removal transformation, while photos published by Just Jared also show the visible progress. Faded outlines are still visible, so “unrecognizable” is a subjective description of the change rather than a literal claim about his identity or a complete removal of all his tattoos.

Why Davidson decided to remove his tattoos
Davidson said he began the removal process in 2020. In Vogue’s February 11, 2025, feature, he explained that the tattoos had become reminders of a difficult period in his life: “I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure.”

That is Davidson’s personal explanation for his own tattoos, not a judgment about tattoos generally. Vogue’s feature also reported a $200,000 cost figure associated with the process; it did not establish that amount as an independently verified final total.
What Davidson has said about the removal process
In an interview covered by The Independent in February 2025, Davidson described the process as “horrible” and estimated that it could take another 10 years. He also said each tattoo could require 10 to 12 sessions. These are Davidson’s reported estimates about his own experience, not standard timelines or treatment guidance.
