Perth-raised dancer Faith Ward was selected as a rookie Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader in July 2025, fulfilling what PerthNow described as her “long-term dream.” She was one of six rookies chosen for a 36-member squad, after a recruiter contacted her through Instagram.
Who is Faith Ward?
Ward was born in New Zealand, moved to Australia at age 10 and grew up in Western Australia, ABC News reported on 21 July 2025. PerthNow described her as 22 when it announced her selection that July. Her New Zealand birth and Perth upbringing are both part of her story.
How did Faith Ward make the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?
According to ABC News, a recruiter seeking international candidates contacted Ward through Instagram. She initially suspected the account was fake. She later entered a multistage selection process involving thousands of cheerleaders. In 2025, six rookie places were available on a 36-member squad; veterans were also competing to retain their positions.
Ward recalled the moment this way: “I was waiting for someone to wake me up from my dream.” ABC reported that she was the first New Zealander and third Australian to make the team.

Where has Faith Ward appeared since her selection?
PerthNow reported on 17 June 2026 that Ward appeared in season three of Netflix’s documentary series America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The report establishes her appearance in that season; it does not establish her current roster status for 2026–27.
